Well the more observant amongst us have detected a thread in another enclave on here
It is true I have put a deposit on another car!
I pushed the button on a 650S spider earlier in the week, spec is;
Volcano Red paint
Semi aniline leather with Harissa Red perforations
Harissa Red contrast stitching
Carbon Fibre interior upgrade
Diamond cut forged wheels (not super lights)
Polished brake calipers
Security & Protection Pack (lift, parking sensors, rear camera and alarm upgrade)
Luxury Pack (electric heated seats & steering column, soft close doors and car cover)
Tracker
Mats
Triangle & First Aid
Stealth Badges
Stealth Pack
P Zeros
Ashtray
MY16 build on a 65 plate (though I've got a personal one to go on)
All for the OTR cost of some of the used ones
It will be detailed by Pady and covered in self healing Paintshield before it hits the tarmac
Trying to line up a visit to MTC whilst it is on the line
It looks like this one but RHD with clear front side lights and diamond cut wheels
http://www.wallpaper..._wallpaper.html
Couple of nice vids for those that like them

Really pleased!
A lot to spend but what the hell
Never thought in a million years I'd have the means to buy a brand new supercar!
It is a real B road weapon in Sport/Sport mode and a great GT cruiser in Normal/Normal. I'm not going near Track/Track for a while
0-125 mph in 8.4 seconds, fractions of a second behind a P1
One of a handful of spiders that don't lose rigidity from having no roof
Really reminds me a lot of a Honda S2000, very driver focused
Now to book a running in trip round the Alps for early October!
Its going to be a long summer
Johnny will have a goodbye hoon round Scotland then off to Bamford Rose for sale.
(they have recently started selling cars)
I will still pop up in here now and then, you won't get rid of me that easily

Stealth Pack - yeah right!
Congrats.
Now, we never met up so you could show me how to apply LS touch up with a cocktail stick. Hang on, we could still meet up when you have the 650S and you won't be needing your touch up paint any more
Don't ask about the stealth pack Congrats.

You're welcome to collect the LS Chipex, I'll show you how to apply it and take you for a blast in the land based missile

A beautiful car Mikey. Congratulations.
I presume this must be the new model, about which journalists have said, almost the same performance as another in the range, but at a more attractive price.
I don't think one could use the Aston expression, 'understated', but you are (presumably) a young man like avinalarf, so your McLaren will be just right.
We will miss your very expert technical knowledge.
You said a name will be needed for your car. Did you see my suggestion, Bruce?
Without him, you would not be looking forward now to your new car.

the 650 is an "evolution" of the 12C, I've driven both and I think the 650 is much better than the 12C. Similar situation to my first 4.7 vs the S, not massive changes but boy do they make a difference!
You may be getting confused with the 675LT which is a smidge more power (25PS hence the number) and a "long tail" coupe so longer and no Spider version. I did contemplate a 570S spider but those are two years away from customers and not much better than the Aston in terms of performance.
This thing is quantum leap!
Nope not understated but what car that can crack 125 mph in just over 8 seconds is
Wifey says I look young enough so that's good enough for me
My knowledge isn't that expert I just store useless information!
Quite like the Bruce idea

My son Shmee150 upgraded from a 12C to a 650S Spider. I thought the improvement was really significant, the 650S is a truly brilliant car. He has posted lots of videos of it, of which this is from a day when I joined him to compare the McLaren to a 458 Spider. We both thought the McLaren was much better.

Yep I've watched all Tim's videos on the "shmeemobile" and had a good conversation with him about the Aston vs 12C vs 650https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z_qHvRLhH8
Very helpful
Thanks everyone, a pleasantly surprising reaction (other than Jockman )
Speedraser - yep I drove both and the 650 is a lot more than the 25% different McLaren claim IMHO
Jockman - at least it will go up a kerb no issues with its lift system
George - I thought you might appreciate the McLaren engineering
AM4009 - there are several used ones on at more than I paid
Bins - more than welcome!
Ed - I was going to subcontract it to askjockman.com but I don't think he deserves it after the R8 comment
Kris - its a massive step up, Johnny was 314BHP/ton a 650S is 478!
Nicks has asked me to continue organising Hoons so once the weather improves early next year I'll oblige

What a lovely car, the friendly face always reminds me of the original Elise
I really like Mclaren and how they have entered the road car space as a real drivers car, thats not too in your face like the Italians. I could never see myself using a Lambo or Ferrari on a regular basis, but a Mclaren as a daily driver would be easy
A neighbor has a black 650S and it sounds as good as it looks
It is a very similar concept to the Lotus, added lightness, nearly 500 kg lighter than the Vantage!I really like Mclaren and how they have entered the road car space as a real drivers car, thats not too in your face like the Italians. I'm with you on the driver focus, that and the exceptional rigidity with the roof off swung it against the Italians
Only minor issue is the brake pedal is dead centre and set up for left foot braking, which I'm rubbish at. I guess that's a good excuse to practice more!

I love the clinical efficiency of it all. Never actually seen a 650S in the flesh, so curious with how they sound being turboed. I do hope one day to get a 12C Spyder (preferably alongside the Aston for a nice bit of contrast). 12C is good but the 650S really is a lot better, so I spent the extra which meant Johnny had to go
12C & 650S sound great with the Inconel sports exhaust but its a not switchable so a bit much on long runs.
I've stuck with the stock exhaust for now which is plenty loud enough.
I have the option to drop the rear window with the roof up for more noise or retrofit the sports exhaust if I wish.
Cheers Guys
Pleasantly surprised by the reception its got (must come up with a name!)
Just managed to get a 12C owners manual
Some right classics in there
WARNING: The traction control system cannot reduce the risk of an accident if you drive too fast. The traction control system is unable to override the laws of physics.

Just a quick note to say congratulations and good luck with the new set of wheels, it certainly sounds like an absolute belter. I hope I get to have a closer look one day as to me at least they are a special car indeed.
Thanks as well for all the knowledge you've contributed over time and for the run-outs that you've organised, the spring 2013 Welsh one was a highlight for sure. You may have to update the seriously iffy hat collection now if it's that quick so I'll look forward to seeing the arrival pics

Good point on the hats! (note to self chin straps now obligatory)
Interesting news!
Chris Harris has been loaned one for 3 months
I should know what he thinks about it about when I pick mine up rolleyes
