BEAMS MR2....Anybody ??
Discussion
I have a 1991 MR2 with a beams motor transplanted into it. I honestly don't know much about the car which is why I am joining forums. I race rotary cars which is why I think it is funny I am on a forum called "pistonheads" My home forum is "nopistons" hahaha
I am Jamie btw. I am from the California (U.S.)Nice to meet you all!

A good friend of mine has a 1993 MR2 with a BEAMS engine transplant.
The car drives beautifully - I've owned a number of MR2s (NAs and Turbos) over the years, and none of them match up to the driving pleasure of the BEAMS. Lovely engine note coupled with that mid-engined feel makes for a great sportscar package.
Okay, so you don't get that punch in the back from a Turbo MR2, but the way the BEAMS car feels when accelerating is a lot nicer in the long run!
The last rolling road result came out at 197 BHP...not bad considering the only mods are a custom exhaust and an air filter.
I'd seriously consider a BEAMS MR2 if I wasn't so desperately in love with my Impreza...
