I think the one to go for these days if you haven't got Litchfield money is the Spec C RA-R. Superlight and superquick in standard format. Next on the list i think would be a 22B, P1, WR1 or S203, in no particular order, and in standard form please biggrin

From memory the s203 wasn't anything special - the s202 (bugeye) or s204 (hawkeye) both had significant improvements in chassis/handling as well as power over the regular STi of the time but the s203 was more along the lines of a bodykit and nicer interior.

I'm still a fan of the classic STi-RA v-ltd's hehe

Trust Ben to throw a spanner in the works.... hehe

BTW....i found a very informative site the other day about the evolution of the Impreza...very good too. I'm just reloading my main PC and will post the link as soon as it is up and running. It looked pretty accurate and up to date.

PS....You're right about the S203....i meant to say S202 but not the S204.

BugEye rules wink

The will be unvileing the Subaru 09 car here http://www.wrc.com/page/News/BreakingNewsD...11038... hopefully will put an end to all the Photochopped versions

I have a litcfield MY06 STi Type 20 and it is very good biggrin but not a patch on the Version 2 cossy Spec C Type 25, even driven it in the heavier A-line form awesome cool

Not sure what versions litchfields have planned yet for new Model

IMHO the best "out the Box"
UK coobs were P1 and RB320 biggrin
(sorryWR1's are over-rated driven 2& had 2 passenger rides, get a MY05TTi PPP or a Jap car)
JAP scoobs S204 and the Spec C RA-R

Others
22B (JDM) MY07Spec C Type25

Not driven the RA-R i did ask but wasn't allowed unless I was buying it rolleyes

I also believe that the STi will only come out with 5 speed gearbox and a 6 speed not untill 12 months later

My local dealer is effing hopeless from the point of view that they tempted me with "oh yeah we do track days via prodrive and all that malarky", and i've never heard a dickie bird from them on the subject since i bought mine 2.5 yrs ago. Clearly you have a good dealer and are in the know.

I look forward to seeing the new STi as and when it's released in it's true form. I'd better reserve judgement till then smile

Looks so so so much better in the metal than any of the photos I've seen. Well the NZ spec WRX does anyway, can't speak for yours wink

I'll try and get down the dealer with a camera sometime to get some photos of our one. Maybe they'll let me take it for a drive as well... scratchchin

OZ/NZ have a new grill already wink i'm sure that "just" a grill won't win over the Fussy Brits rolleyes rumors say that the UK STi will be Faced lifted to look like the WRC concept car shown at the Franfurt motorshow wink

I'll have to pop to the dealer again, they have got some new wheels and given it a tweak biggrinbiggrin but WILL take a Proper Camera this time wink
