Rest easy your car is engineered and built by Subaru
My BRZ just back from Litchfield; more power, more noise and nicely executed
If the car remains low volume and rare, then that is fine with me; in fact last time I looked Subaru had only sold 1 SE spec BRZ
Jesus that is exclusive! I will never be in a financial position to own a brand new car - but if I could I would be torn between a GT86/BRZ and an MX-5. My BRZ just back from Litchfield; more power, more noise and nicely executed

I'll just have to hope one of you guys sells yours in 5 years time and I can buy it off you

So what sort of MPG are you guys getting, is it as good as advertised?
I really want one still but its too much for me, shame really as it ticks all the boxes! Couple of years..
I don't even know what the advertised is didn't even think about it when buying one. Whatever it is, it could probably achieve it with a loosened up engine and gearbox.I really want one still but its too much for me, shame really as it ticks all the boxes! Couple of years..

Sales so far have been piss poor. New registrations in 2012 (with some competitors):
MX-5: 1,738
RCZ: 1,421
Boxster: 390
GT-86: 161
You have to factor in that the GT-86 has only been for sale for approx half the year so far, however halving the others sales numbers still results in GT-86 coming last. This is a pretty terrible sales figures for a car so hyped. The Boxster figures are low due to the old generation being phased out, I'd expect the new model to treble sales at least. As I predicted Toyota have fked up badly due to overpricing the car.

Where did you get those figures?
According to Toyota they sold 979 GT86 July-September 2012 - click.
Only seen 3 so far. One leaving FoS, one in Scotland and one round the corner from me in Hampshire. I think the GT86 is great, ticks all the boxes for me. Might buy one as a daily driver in a few years after they've depreciated a chunk. Haven't driven one, but had a good root round one at Goodwood. Liked everything, from driving position to instruments to the GT86 badge itself...

Here's mine, going from a Clio 200 to this, a great alternative rather than just seeking out more power i.e. jumping up to a Megane 265, it's very similar to the Clio yet refreshingly different. Loved the Clio, loving the GT86!!!
This is exactly the move I'm planning. Did your Clio have the cup chassis? How does the ride compare? How is everyone liking the piped engine sound? I wasn't a fan on my test drive.

What did you have done? Was it just a remap? My BRZ just back from Litchfield; more power, more noise and nicely executed

I've just recently had a bit of a test drive spree and driven :
Veloster Turbo - not 'special' enough to change from the Mito
Peugeot RCZ - was nice, very well finished, quick, but *I* thought a bit girlie
Toyota GT-86 Auto and Manual - auto is cheaper to tax and better mpg apparently . . .
I currently have a Mito Cloverleaf 170(which is in the classified section now!!), and subject to me selling that, I'm looking to buy a Red GT-86 manual with leather. It really is a great car, I had it sideways coming out of the dealers at 15mph (it was wet), but it was so controllable it was a joy!
