Its true, once you start to get into biggish figures (150mph+) your covering distance so quickly that unless your car has huge grunt & acceleration then getting proper big boys figures is nigh impossible. Doesn;t mean your car is slow, just that the 600bhp monsters will always disappear.
E.G. the NSX I'm certain would go faster but being a 5 speeder when you shift 4th - 5th (about 125mph) you'll drop momentarily out of VTEC, where the real power is. Car takes a while to haul back into VTEC and just as its pulling well you hit the timing guns. personally I think its a 165mph motor car, no more - but still not bad for a "mere" 3.0 n/a.....

Likewise, top in the Supe, is a smidge tall, and it doesn't surge again until you are ontop of the timing gear.

I suspect you may well be onto something. Top end of 4th is an indicated 140 (it gets there sharpish but is likely to be ~130 irl). Changing to 5th at that point will drop me just out of the main powerband...

Guess we'll find out on Sunday.

Im interesting to see what you get Iain, as at the moment I think you have similar power to mine unless you find loads on the mapping session.

Last time I drove just on track at Brunters I had to pull 5th for a while, so I recon youll get a decent speed.

I dont know the setup though, if you get a bend to run out of exit speed will make a big difference.

Doubt the mapping will find much but may improve the torque curve a little and will definately give me pasce of mind for the runs.

All mapped up now. Damn good job too - was running critically lean for 4th gear runs. It'd have been a miracle if you guys hadn't found out what an FD sounds like on 1 rotor!!!

Turns out the fuel pump wasn't up to the job so I now have a nice shiny Skyline pupm in place. Unfortunately couldn;t get it to run nicely on 0.9bar of boost, need colder plugs for that (9's are too hot so it looks like 11's all round in future), stuck with a measly 0.8 bar.

293.4 Hp and 237 ftlb torque.

As that figure is at the wheels it's about 350 in manufacturer speak.

Did get over 300rwhp on higher boost but the spark was breaking up so decided to play safe.

Now, where's that Chimaera...

Good one Iaint! Will look forward to hearing about this duel.
The fuel pump,is it the GTR 2 stage jobbie? Noisy b@st@rds at startup arn't they.Still it'll certainly supply enough juice to keep yer rotors happy!

The invoice says it's an Apexi BRN33 pump... not noticed any extra noise from it over the induction kitt and exhaust though...

BNR33 covers:GTR,GTR-V spec & N1.Cool!
Our pump whines like crazy at startup until its happy that its 'doing its thing' properly(5-10 secs),can only occaisionally hear it after if abusing the right foot & plenty of boost

From reading a few threads on here it does sound like you know your stuff on track. How much do you think the speed carried out of the bend is affecting the result? Because seeing stuff like this makes me want an NSX even more
