Any plans for it? Mine still has the standard exhaust but that might get replaced soon with either a custom or Scorpion - something that looks similar to stock but is a little noiser when you plant your foot!

TBH, probably not. I won't be able to get close to the sound, either volume or quality wise, of my old Griff so best to leave it standard. Not a fan of all the bling bodykits either so mine'll probably become the only unmolested Zed in the country. wink
I'm impressed with the handling already so don't want to fix what ain't broke.
I've also tried to climb the slippery pole/slip down the slippery slope of performance mods too - whether it's 290BHP or 330BHP I doubt I could tell the difference except on track, which is not really my bag.

Conclusion: I'm a dullard. biggrin

Ditto - I'm not a fan of modifications and mine will be standard bodywise - the only thing I would change is the exhaust and that would only be for one that looks the same as the standard one wink

How good is it? Honestly?

I'm thinking of getting one, but it's between this and an Evo (I know, i know. Totally different cars etc.)

its a good looking car, and for a jap wagon it looks like a nice place to sit smile I am not sure I would compare an Evo to this thou - they have different design objectives wink

May be too soon - honeymoon period and all that. At the moment, I love it.
Comfy, quick(ish) and great in the twisties - seriously fun.
Only downside so far - it's noisy - and not in a good way. Tyre roar and road noise is high, I can barely hear the exhaust. I'm used to noisy having had the TVR for four years but this is different - I think it may get tiring on long runs. Once I've had a long, dull run or two I'll report back.
For fun, it's the equal of the Griff for me. Clearly completely different but I have the grin back when driving. It's a little more agricultural that you may expect from Japan, but all the better for it.
Sorry, jumbled up - a little tipsy. Will try tomorrow.

Did you spec and build yourself or is there an 'off the shelf' kit? How's the power and torque?

I had exactly the same issue when I bought my '54 GT a few months ago, it was terrible and although I'd read about the road noise being a small issue I began to doubt the choice of car and whether it would be bearable on the motorway.

Incidentally the handling was a little wandery too so I had a full geo setup done by a local specialist who found the offside rear to be out by 0.4deg (negative toe). The difference in not only the handling but the reduction in tyre roar was night and day. I can only think it was essentially dragging the back tyre and creating the noise. It might be worth investigating this as a starting point.

There are also tonneau covers available from Nissan (at great expense) which fit under the rear strut and isolate the rear boot space which I've heard can also help reduce road noise.

check what tyres you have also.... the old RE040 were very noisy (although very hard wearing)

I went Toyo T1s/R and Falken FK452 with good degrees of happiness with both biggrin
