My wife bought a new Nissan X-Trail in Nov 2004. At first service in April 05 corrosion on wheels was noted and reported to dealer in writing. In my ignorance I thought car had three year warranty.Coming up to end of warranty with even more corrosion on wheels thought dealer and manufacturer would replace. Only offered to refurbish. First set of wheels from Kent(they have the contract and I live in Newcastle) the bubble wrap had stuck to them! The second set was damaged in the fitting by windy gun and also fitting of tyres removed laquer and paint down to original. Nissan U.K. (the call centre is in Hungary) says that this is not a warranty issue even after eight months. The dealer got an outside agency to refurbish wheels on car. Have no confidence that they will last past a tyre change or even the winter. Tried on six occasions to get through to Nissan warranty dept. Not such a department. Asked customer services(the only people I could talk to) to guarantee refurbished wheels from date of refurbishment for three years and they wouldn't entertain it. So. Spend nearly £23,000 have corrodded alloys after eight months and have them refurbished until warranty runs out. Any thoughts?
