Im looking into selling my S3 and ive always wanted an M3 but after some insurance quotes ive mananged to work out that basically a P1 wont be a huge ammount more to insure.

Are the Impreza's or in particular the P1's very expensive to run? servicing/fuel etc. ive been looking at a few P1's and found for for £8.5k with something like 85kmiles on it with a rebuilt 25k miles ago. are they a fairly reliable car? bar the usual stuff tyres, oil etc.

Being 22 nearly 23 insurance is alot... (1800 QUID!!) but after a pay rise at work and me living at home still... WHY NOT smile other than Elephant are there any companies that would touch someone my age with a decent price?

I didnt realise that you could get the P1's so cheap... i payed 9k for my 1999 S3!!!

Any thought would be great. thanks

Making the engine stay together sounds good.. LOL

Havent really thought about the type R as they are imports arent they??
due to my age its got to be a UK car. the insurance gets cheaper the newer the scooby.. which is strange.. but i realllllly do prefer the look of that original shape.

Sky and A plan... hmmm will give them a go!

This is why I'd go for an STi Type R, it needs a remap anyway and comes with the DCCD, which AFAIK the P1 doesnt.
Are the type R's uk? or JDM?

Type Rs are JDM only. But I wouldn't worry about the increase in premium of the Type R over the P1, as you will be raped on both of them hehe
Only just walked tall again after the S3 premium frown

Random.... ive just done a quote for: "SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI TYPE R 1994cc 2 DOOR 1994-2000"

And if they only do it in import... then Elephant must know that... even though it doesnt say import??

Because its come out.. £300 cheaper than a P1??

HMMMMmmmm

Cheaper than the M3... AND the P1... and cheaper to buy...

Quite confusing

im 22 nearly 23 with 4years NCB so i thought 1423 was a bargain... im tempted to just take out the insurance but... trouble is it just gives them one more excuse to get out paying if i had an incident!

even 1800 isnt too bad on a P1 tbh!

http://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/GetDealer.d...

They have a white Sti 5 type R for £6995 totally standard 59k miles....
tempted but its up north'like frown
