Performance Figures e46 330ci-Anyone have them?

They seem to vary a lot from magazine to magazine; some quote 6.7 to 60, some as low as 5.8, with other figures such as the quarter mile and 0-100mph seemingly non existent; anyone have them handy?
IIRC it's low 6's to 60, 0-100 in about 16-17 seconds, and 155mph limited.daveco said:

I'd have thought whether the car is auto or manual would also make a differenceVee said:
Surely a, E46 330 won't do 155 ?
I suggest you take it up with BMW becuase according to them, all the cars they've produced with a manual gearbox and an M54B30 engine (330i, 330Ci, 530i, Z4 3.0i etc) are electronically limited to 155mph. This is their quoted top speed. I suspect they'd only do 156 without the limiter, but thats the top speed. The auto's are 152, IIRC.
Can't speak for the manual as I've not tried it on mine but a couple of friends took their E39 530i's to the 'Ring and nudged 153mph GPS on the Autobahn - theirs were both Automatic. I see no reason why the manual won't hit it's quoted top speed of 155mph.
And if the E39 can do it I don't see why the E46 can't.

The manual 330Ci feels like it is not going to go any faster once the needle gets to 250km/h. It also feels distinctly on edge, unlike an E46 M3 at that speed.
Agreed, I've got a saloon and coupe. Neither feels like it will get there. However, if BMW say so then it must be true.

I wonder which is more compelling. Your ascertation that it doesn't 'feel' like it will get there, or accounts from people who've actually tried and can confirm they WILL get there. However, if BMW say so then it must be true.
I'll get back to you on that.
Well, I used to do it every week on the A5 between Darmstadt and Frankfurt (one of Germany's classic speed stretches that used to be used to test racing cars - there's a memorial to Bernd Rosemeyer at the side) and I know exctly what a 330Ci feels like after a few miles straining to see what full throttle will do in fifth. I never hit the limiter.
I replaced it with an M3 and the limiter made its presence felt at about 270 km/h (indicated).

The BMW 3.0 was a great engine - you don't need to pipe up to defend it everytime someone suggests that it is anything but.
I simply asked a question based on my experience of the car, not claim that is was a fact.
Maybe the 5 Series is just special then. I would have assumed that performance wise the 330 would do everything the 530 did and then more - given its 90kg lighter. If a 530 will reach the limiter I don't really understand stops the 330 doing the same?

330 hits limiter with relative ease, though car might be driving on a slight incline. Though the time it takes to get to 60 and 100 seems about right.

Reminiscences of the 'DXB335d' ignominy.
Do remember I'm not the guy in the thread claiming BMW have lied in all their owners handbooks and brochures Why would they put 155 if it didnt do 155? And if they WOULD pretend it did when it didn, why wouldn't they just pretend the Auto did it as well? But they dont - they quote the auto at 152 and the manual at 155. Surely there is a reason?

Must have had a remap 330 hits limiter with relative ease, though car might be driving on a slight incline. Though the time it takes to get to 60 and 100 seems about right.
