I have the opportunity to buy the first 135i coupe at my dealer.
First and ONLY!! Youd have to be insane to spend 30k on one of these
I guess I'd be insane then. I was considering spending 30K on a high-spec 130i hatchback. I only held back because of the prospect of a 135i.

I can't wait. cloud9

But if the car is brought on a select deal with no or very little deposit then residuals aren't an issue!
They are if you cant keep a car above 6 weeks wink

Well not really...you don't get the depreciation for free...the finance is worked out so you pay off the depreciation plus the interest in your monthly payments. The only thing you're protected from is if the market goes into free fall before your term is up...then you can just elect not to pay the balloon at the end.

Of course

But like you say if all the doom and gloom merchants on here are right it doesn't matter if it goes into free fall.

The new 123d coupe looks awesome. I am trying to get prices from BMW just now. I also want to know if it will take roof bars.

Actually, more to the point it costs alot to get out of these deals if you get bored with the car. Also, whilst the hatch version is cool in an uber hothatch kind of way, I'll reserve judgement on the coupe til I've seen it...it looks like its wearing a "top hat" in the pictures!

One thing is for sure, if its fugly then BMW will be supporting the cars through lease deals to ensure they can get some volume throughput.

They do the same on the Z4 coupes which are impossible to shift and there are big discounts on the 3 series saloon. Its amazing at how wrong BMW can get things..the new coupe looks as good as the saloon looks drab and boring.

If it were me I'd be going for a demo 335ci over a 135ci. Hence my statement that youd be mad to spend £30k on the 1 series coupe. a £15k 120d coupe could make sense (again dependent on what it looks like in the flesh).

I imagine that fairly necessary/important to have restrained styling on the saloon in order to peddle coupes; nobody would buy a coupe if the saloon looked better.

Catherine, I have a brochure in front of me for the coupe (don't ask where I got it from) no Le Mans Blue, there is a Montego Blue however.

shout THE 135i IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN M SPORT TRIM!

which means Le Mans blue and not Montego blue (SE only) for the 135i. (if current models are anything to go by)

That would make sense as the 130i is M Sport only. So why has gw got a brochure with Montego only in it?
