The one I tested had the M performance pack so the "better" brakes I tried them hard a number of times and had no issues with them more than up to the job of slowing me down.
I remember the brakes in my old E 90 330d they were very very good so sharp and strong - I'd drive quite a few different cars similar power but always remember the brakes and steering feeling were in a vastly superior league( sound insulation though was much worse).

Really like the look of it that colour privacy rear windows and touring spec M Sport Plus for the brakes HK and Xenons. My F31 turned up last week, about 5 weeks earlier than planned. I took a few pics, should particularly help those trying to decide!

Tried to upgrade to the 335d after I had placed the order but due to having the individual leather and colour it was locked early. Oh well, will be happy with the 330d that is replacing my old trouble free E46 330d with 260,000 miles I have had for 12 years.
That's some distance and you've certainly got your money's worth out of it - and no doubt it still has plenty of life left in it. (Presume you kept it totally standard and serviced it on the button OEM parts)Did you de badge the rear and leave the side badges ?

I'd say that was fair advice, don't baby the engine but don't rag it either, give the engine load but not sustained high revs.
Thing is most people buy used cars and as a good 50% ++ of cars are co cars then rental cars then lease cars with very few being bought privately new I'd wager most are driven normally from day one using full rev range and plenty nailed from day 1. How can the F10/11 have the 535d as rwd and the 6 series rwd only whereas F30/31 is Xdrive only?
Seen quite a few now and the x drive does add a visible increase in height over the wheels v rwd only.
Also does adaptive suspension really turn the 335d into the m sport suspension it should have from the off?
Its really close to the end of the big discounts for this car and I'm still humming and haring about what to do.
Wife says if you want one buy a £15-20k one instead for now run it 3 years and then get a f31 335d for £20k in 3 years time - I think false economy but if its evolved and its rwd it would be quicker ... Though lacking economy and the old model.

340d rwd as a 535d can cope with the torque

Cannot believe its such a long waiting list - really they need to remove the huge discounts or never had them in the first place or increase supply.

Could simply be stronger demand elsewhere OR BMW forcing a reduction of discount by eliminating supply - or you have a rare option which is the issue. Even with the original September delivery date, it's hard to believe that BMW have taken 5 months worth of build slots in the past month.

I'm fully aware of the F30 335d deals now and options I do want - have been noticing the AUC F30 330ds for c£27k with tiny miles on then too and the other factor is the wife is pushing look at a 335i/d E91/92 for low teens run it for 2-3 years then pick up the F30 335d for £20k saving a lot in the process (I'm not 100% convinced that is actually the most efficient way though).
Have also had a look at a low price loaded F11 535d m which does give rwd

I still feel now that as amazing as the RS6 is the E90 330d was the better car - but it is an itch I couldn't not scratch.

What?!! Your 'iconic' RS6 isn't as good as your old 330d?!! I still feel now that as amazing as the RS6 is the E90 330d was the better car - but it is an itch I couldn't not scratch.
Handling wise the 330d m was superior - be it lighter rwd more balanced weight distribution or it could be in arriving at corners much quicker than previously.
I know all the petrol station staff well - and for business miles I'm actually paying to drive them.
But the off the line is awesome the V8 through a tunnel amazing starting it up I open the windows every time, it has presence and when you do go silly and hold WOT its brutal no let up.
Wife nagging about running costs all the time drains too and a newer car would be safer etc. Ho hum.
When I look back at all the cars I've owned the E90 330d M is to date the best all round car I've owned, the RS6 is an ongoing great experiance which long after changing it I will remember fondly for the pure crazy-ness of it.
So maybe better is the wrong word - the 330d was more complete an all rounder jack of all trades master if none while the RS6 rally punched hard in the crazy zone it does mundane motoring not so great.
