How accurate is the computer oil gauge? It appers to have gone from full to oh fk put oil in me in about 500 miles. Also I can see the front drivers side wheel through a gap in the arch liner. I presume there should be a flap covering that....

The only time I had to top up the level was when it was fairly low due to a mechanic not putting the cap on properly. I topped it up and the level didn't move. I topped it up more and it still stayed the same. I put a little more in and the level stayed the same. I checked for leaks then checked the oil guage and it suddenly read full. In short, the computer oil guage is rubbish!

Just started smelling petrol on full tank on my 55 plate 325i Touring; local dealer confirmed breather pipe prob and estimate of £450 most of which is labour; might have to use my local indy...and the washer pump has also packed up on the rear wash/wipe all within days of the car's 7th birthday and 90K coming up on the odometer. Still love the car to bits and prefer to my previous E46 330i Touring!

Sorry for the thread revival, but I've just established that the 330i SE I got a month ago has this problem. I suspected it may have it after checking for common faults on't'net and finding various threads, but only brimmed it for the first time today.

Anyhoo - going to the dealer tomorrow to get the parts and then going to DIY the job with the help of my bro-in-law (I'd shamelessly plug his garage business but I know it is against the rules.....biggrin )

You can say where you are taking it. You just can't name and shame! So no slagging him off for doing a piss poor job. hehe

Anyway at least you knew to look for it and it wasn't a surprise. thumbup

Munter ....nice looking car...I picked up an 05reg 330i SE in japanrot red last week. I've been wondering whether tinted windows would look ok....convinced now to get mine done. Out of interest where did you get the cup holder from? I have one that is broken. The previous owner took out the cartridge and left the cover only.
