I found myself looking at these cars despite being in no position to buy one.

Stumbled upon this.

Not much info in the ad but the dealer's own page has more info on it, I just can't seem to link straight to the car ad but here's the stock list where it's currently on the 3rd page. http://www.hillsoflymington.co.uk/147376/hills-sto...

Looks like it's had £1000 wiped off the asking price recently, worth a look surely.
Ad says it's an iL....

...it's not!!

Also, ring these places, don't bother with email. Its almost, literally next to being a waste of time. While emails are collecting in the inbox some other punter is on the dog and dealing on the car you want.

replied to your mail rich!

Cheers Okgo, I've been on the blower all morning.

The black one is a dud unfortunately. Long story short the full bmw service history was conveniently lost, gave him the benefit of the doubt and checked it out, and it's been in for plenty of stuff, just not since last year, and not serviced as many times as I'd like. Also, the AC needing a regass 'could be a compressor which is only a couple of hundred quid mate', a couple of hundred being 550+vat.

So, a total pup then.

I've found another one which is getting checked out soon by a mate who's fellow PH'er for me who lives locally (ish), that's a 740i.

Now to follow up my email about the aforementioned blue one on the south coast!

Wish me luck...

Blue one is on SOR, it's fixed at 4k, but the sat nav screen has got the all too common dead display syndrome which they're trying to sort. Seemed ok on the phone, apparantly it's a really tidy car with bags of history and he'll get back to me later RE my e-mail. I did ask a lot of questions biggrin

So we'll see where that goes, but it's 300 miles away and I'm not in the mood for gambling.

NEXT! smash

I like your attitude.

I hope to be doing the exact same thing this year, problem being I am 21 and have been told what a I will look driving a V8 7 biggrin

I have yet to hear of someone that has bought one and not loved it.

I'm only 26, so probably not prime 7 series demographic, but I'm hooked.

Struggling to find more of them worth considering now, There's one that shows some promise, and I'll be mad if I don't bring one home on monday to complete the spendy weekend smash

yes

or when you make their Clio/Foci/Civics etc do the rearward dissapearing trick. (The 30-70 acceleration on the 4.4 V8 is superb)

cheers!

That radius vehicles are sticking a hell of a markup on cars they don't own. The purple one I found for 5k was actually 3.5k on the trader and has now sold. I'll drop them a line tomorrow, new autotrader tomorrow too isn't it?

thanks for the update btw Rich, car's looking very nice! I shall pop thee another e-mail smile

Black one - too cheap. Hmmmm...worth investigating history though. Could be a genuine bargain, perhaps.
Blue one - a little steep. Very clean looking and a seriously comprehensive ad, though. Worth a cheeky offer ?
This one has a few more miles, same colour combo, excellent spec and recent history, and is priced about right IMHO....

Ad now appears to have been updated with pics.... looks good IMHO.

Such cynicism.....lol......just trying to help out.
I've been lurking on these forums for a long time now and a friend of mine has been using my PC ( who is also on the lookout for a similar car - a 750iL) so I thought Id stick my oar in with a suggestion no-one else had linked to.....
The previous link posted ought to be

Had a 750il last year.

Astonishing cars in terms of handling but water pump/fan/radiator problems and other electrical gremlins.

Was EXTREMELY disappointed with a so-called specialist in North East London so would give them a miss if you get one. Bunch of clowns.

I would still get another one though!

Cheers,

I'm about 200 miles north of NE London, so I'm fairly sure I'll be avoiding whoever you're referring to hehe

There's a couple more cropped up on the trader it seems! Really looking forward to some wafting.
