That comes as standard on all beemers unfortunately...I did think the same as you though.

So I've heard. My E39 doesn't have any orange peel, or at least it didn't the last time I actually saw paint underneath all the road muck... as Chris Harris says, all cars look better dirty!

Orange peel is free on BMW's not much I can do about it. The wheels are cleaned with auto smart smartwheels cleaner, g101, irons tardis and clay bared....

You can get rid of the orange peel by wet sanding, but it's quite a risky job if you've not done it before!

Orange peel seems to be very prevalent recently, I stood in a Mercedes showroom and the black CLS shooting brake they had in was unbelievably bad.
Someone did explain that they've changed paint systems recently, gone to single pack with no clear coat or something, can't quite remember.

Wheel cleaning sounds easy then!!!

i know what you mean, we have a new Polo too and its the same... I know how to wet sand and have done it before with minor marks then polished out, but to do a whole car..... i dont have the cahoonas for that.
