Few pics of my F10 - 530d with Dynamic, Visibility and Pro Media packs.
Congratulations, really nice. What do you think of it so far? I think the F10 will age as well as our later E39's. Do you think you'd still consider a 535i at some point? Edited by sparks_E39 on Monday 9th June 16:28

It's a fantastic car but I'd be very surprised if it still looks and feels as good in 10 years time as my E39 does. The interior is wonderful, etc etc but it's nothing like as solidly constructed.sparks_E39 said:

Probably not but only because I don't like to change cars quickly so by the time I'd want to change a 640i would be affordable. After asking advice on here regarding a 2011 3.0d 525m and being asked why I was not
considering a 530/535d the man maths kicked in and overnight the purchase changed to a 2013 530d.
Had it about 6 weeks now and have to say I am enjoying driving again, feels quicker than my
old 3.0d A5 although not as sure footed or as quick off the line - but that's just me being
new to auto.
Anyway here are a couple of pics, it's in the ever so popular Space Grey with Dakota.

I'm not married, so ladies, form an orderly line etc etc.
The neighbours are either amused if they are a door or two down or starting to feel seriously threatened by BMW creep if they live directly next door. But they have three cars too.
as for 'why'... It's just a bit of fun really! The second one replaced another E36 vert I had that was a bit of a pup. The third one is the fault of Pistonheads, someone posted the Auto Trader ad on my thread - and the vendor was in a hurry to get rid so I ended up getting it for peanuts. It's not completely fault-free and bears the scars of being used as a school run bus, but I have already solved the "terrible MPG on these cars" with a 22mm wrench and a £40 sensor from Euro Car Parts, and have diagnosed the cause of the auto box being reluctant to shift in 'D' mode, which again is down to a simple sensor fail. I have totally fallen for it though, love the added practicality combined with classic E36 feel... although the standard suspension is woeful despite having been refreshed with Bilstien branded shocks at some point.
I am however honest/enough of a mug [delete as applicable] to have them all insured on a multi-car deal along with my mum's 330d which, because of her age is cheaper for me to insure with her as a named driver. However I am gonna be changing to a collector's policy come renewal time, which has other benefits.
The worst thing though, is that despite all being so different, they all have a distinct personality and when/if I eventually have to downsize, I would find it very hard to pick just one.

Beautiful. Hows it doing for rust? I think I'm right in saying it's the biggest problem for the E36.
It's not too bad compared to most. I think all cars of this age are the same really. The front and rear arches on the drivers side are starting to show signs. Certainly nowhere near a Mercedes of that era
