I went to Santa Pod at the weekend in my ''mapped'' 335d LOL

I would much rather have my little 1.4 Corsa then that 335d, mainly because the Corsa has a character. It's not that fast, but it looks good and is well made.
You get my vote for a permanent ban. You think the corsa looks good,is well made and would rather own one than a BMW(mapped)? zuffenhausen74 said:
Until recently I had a CSL, the best car I have owned, if you asked me to consider a 335d to replace it or instead of it I would laugh until I cried..
Not that I've owned one, but I'd rather a highly nimble and focused CSL over a 335D.However, I'd not kick a 335D (mapped) out of bed
Carlos,
Why do you always have to tell us that your car pulls away from E46 M3s?
Yes your car is fast, but it as bland as a Tesco Value Ready Meal.Your times are good enough to beat a CSL, but taking a diseasel over a CSL just on the back of straight line speed is wrong. There is so much more than being "fast" - handling, feel, looks, heritage, exclusivity etc. Your car sadly doesn't tick any of these boxes vs. the E46 M3 or a Porker 944 or a Renault Alpine GTA or whathaveyou... Thus I don't need to be told how fast it is...

I've just bought a 330D which I find to be a good all rounder and I must say that the 1/4 mile times posted by the OP are pretty impressive stuff and show how far oil burners have come on in recent years.
I've also owned lots of other cars which were faster (Fisher Fury), with more heritage (308 GTS, 968 CS) or just sweeter (Elise).
However, isn't the point of this forum to celebrate and share our motoring experiences?
Although I have no knowledge of the OP or his previous posts, it seems to me that this thread has confused the relative merits of a car with those (percieved to be) of it's owner.

+1 !!Imagine the temerity of posting enthusiastically about your car on a car enthusiasts forum ! A disgrace ! Hound him out !! He's a witch - burn him !!
PS - sorry about all the exclamation marks !
Chaps, we're all guilty of maybe taking all of this a bit too far now.
Lets calm down a bit, and when we see dxb335d on the forums next, we'll carry on as normal chatting about not a lot , and he'll not mention the 335d quite so much
Cheers
