BMW Touring - which one?

300 mile roundtrip at 70 on the motorway saw 34mpg on the computer on my e46 330 touring manual over the weekend.

I was getting in the (low) 30s in my E39 540i Touring at the weekend.

0.8 Leptons on the cruise control, no radio or AC. Lights on when it was dark.

Left hand side of screen (trip computer) is showing 45.3 mpg over 7 hours of driving, 153 miles. Average speed 22.2 mph.

That is quite close to the right-hand side (on-board computer), showing 45.1 mpg, I presume over a longer period.

It's a bloody good car, I tell thee.
