Also try www.1addicts.com for some more info, although it is more biased towards the 125/135 as it predominantly US based.

Regarding the quality, I have been very happy with my 135i, not a single rattle, but the compartment on top of the dash does stick when I try to open it, but it is being replaced at the next service.

I love my car, and the only issue is the RFT's which at the end of the day have more benefits than negatives IMO. But they do struggle with 360bhp (remapped) in this weather!

I thought most remapped 123d's were reaching 240-250bhp? 265 sounds like BS to me unless there has been other mods?
What brand of RFTs have you had most success with, and what's the car likely to come on? For example, Ford supply all STs on Continental ContiSportContact 3 or Goodyear Excellences.

The Excellence is a somewhat ironically-named tyre - it's st!

Thanks for all your help guys.

I have immensely enjoyed the test drive of the 123d over the weekend, and I have just out in my order for the following:

BMW 123d M Sport 3 door in Space Grey with Black Boston Leather.

I have ordered the Professional CD player, Xenons and the M Double Spoke Style 208M 18 inch wheels.

The following choices are part of the M Sport pack, but I added them to the form as there were a number of options - Aluminium Glacier Silver Interior Trim, M Steering Wheel and exterior trim high gloss Shadowline.

Now all I need to do is wait for it to be delivered. Hopefully it won't be too long.
hiya mate,
why did you go for the professional radio. was it because you went for usb or bluetooth??? i didnt think that it made any difference to the sound quality ? ? if it doesnt its a waste of £140 as it wont do anything ? did you not order the option that gave you the cup holders in the centre console. . . comfort pack or extended storge or something ??? still cant belive that they are not standard. . . they should have the 3 series dash mounted ones...
well done good luck

Prof CD has a much better tuner and amplifier than Business CD - definitely worth the money.

Thanks Guys.

I didn't order the Comfort Pack (which includes the cup holders) as I wasn't too keen ok the finish of the extended storage bin on the dash.

I'll be retro-fitting a Professional head unit, the speaker upgrade and the USB socket. It took me out of budget to have them on the company car scheme, but the leasing company have no issue with me adding them later (as long as the car goes back in stock condition).

Still no-one with any thoughts on the best RFTs to go for?

Ideally ditch the RFTs.

If you have to have them, the best ones to go for are the Bridgestones (RE050A i think).

Leasing co. may insist on me retaining the RFTs unfortunately. If they do, I'll wangle the Bridgestones somehow!

It's the Michelin Pilot Sports that are the superior RFT.

Works for me - I've just put Pilot Sport 2s on the ST and am very impressed with their performance, especially given the conditions out there at the moment.

I have a 118d M-sport as a CC however when i needed a new set of tyres the only ones i could get at short notice were the oe pirelli's.

Due to the wider rears lots of tyres couldn't get me a matching set. Of course i am at mercy to fleet choice etc

I own a 123d since May, which I've made a choice for because of its cost and power. I use it 80% for driving 60km to work; most of it derestricted Autobahn.

Any other car for the budget (30ct/km) has lower performance, comfort or reliability. BMW makes a sensational buy-back guarantee that limits depreciation, thus making it cheaper than a 140PS-Golf after all factors.

For what the 123d is; it does exactly what it says on the tin: good acceleration from 100 to 200km/h while being easy to cruise with high speeds. The Hifi (pro) is OK, and so are all driving controls.

The interior however, has room for improvement. Some switches (heated seats) tend to trap when operating, and the eobd-interface cover tends to fall down when touched with a shoe, which happens, because it is located in the footwell near the door sill.

The runflats are fine; the ride is firm, even without M suspension. It has no barge comfort, but it is very stable at 230km/h.

For this budget, I'd buy one again.
