Still the ongoing situation of not having a clue what car to get.

Just wanted some info on 335s.

How much difference is there between a SE and an M-Sport or is it mainly cosmetic?
I have seen a few SEs with factory fitted Aerokits, is this nice or looked at like a cheap bolt on?
Are the earlier I-drives really poor?

And lastly what are your impressions on this: http://www.germancarspecialistltd.co.uk/bmw-335i-s...

Thanks

Cosmetic.

The differences between the 335 SE and other SE models are M-sport suspension and sports seats as standard.

Only on the saloon and touring. The coupe SE has those as standard too. The differences are minimal.

So really its only the M-sport sills and side skirts that set it apart?

Why pay the premium for M-sport?

Anyone any opinions on the ad i posted?

Would be good to know what year that one is, and mileage. Otherwise pretty good, looks a lot like my one except mine is a manual (highly recommended over the auto BTW in my opinion).

I've got a pre LCI car and the iDrive is fine - works very well and isn't difficult to use. The only people that complain about pre-LCI iDrive are: (1) Clarkson; (2) those with post-LCI iDrive who think it is the second coming; and (3) those that haven't used it.

Its 2006 and 69k.

I used an Idrive in a 6 series and a 06 3 series and found it totally fine actually.
I also think I am done with manual lol, maybe Im turning lazy.
With my 335i-owning hat on I'd say it was priced right, but from a dispassionate perspective I'd say it was about £1k overpriced. About 6 months ago I was offered £11k in p/x on my 335i by BMW - it's a 56 plate with 60k on and all toys.

I can get it lot cheaper than that from the place actually.

Found out few months back that the dealer and myself have a mutual friend who also brought a car from me. He can be taken down a fair amount.

One thing that confuses me, below the DVD disc slot in 335s there are a series of buttons. Mostly they are blanked out. What should be there? Usually its just the extreme left and extreme right button that are used.

Extreme right and left are the heated seats. The one that you have included a link to,appears to have these-as well as electric seats.
Next on the left is the PDC-Parking distance control.
Next is the roller sun blind for the rear window (saloon only)
Next is the Hill descent control and the next button may just be a blank
Hope that helps...

I'm probably wrong but I've looked through an old 3 series brochure and think that in addition to the se model, the Msport has the following differences:
Ability to choose Le Mans blue-exclusive to the M sport
Door sill finishers with M designation
Anthracite headlining
Interior trim-aluminium glacier silver
M aerodynamic body styling
M sport multifunction steering wheel
M sport suspension
Shortened gearshift
High gloss shadow line exterior trim
Sports seat
I know that the se came with m suspension, unless a delete was requested and I think that the interior trim was all but the same,so for the benefit of the op,I think that it's down to what you prefer-I prefer the look of the M sport kit.The lci changed a lot of the above too,I would suspect...

Sun blind I thought was for the Coupe. The missing blank button is for Auto Stop/Start.

Haven't a clue,I'm just quoting my manual regarding the blind. It just says "Saloon:roller sunblind".

Yes I already read your thread but didn't want to hijack it with questions.
Plus we are asking slightly different things.

Thanks all the same though.
Why not the auto box with the paddles? Apparently its very good JD.

I have been reading a lot and it seems some people prefer to just get the SE and get the Aero bumpers fitted.

I remember back when the difference between SE and M-sport was miles apart, now it seems bare minimal.

Cheers, I have rarely seen a 335 with all those buttons filled in actually. Unlike in the E46 M3 where you knew it was full spec or not just by looking at amount of buttons under the climate control.

When I bought my 335i all the M-Sport models were around £2k more expensive than the SE's. I just sought out a well-specced SE instead with the bonus being that I prefer the 230 style wheels to any of the M-Sport wheels.

Seats and suspension are the same in the coupe, as has already been mentioned.

I've debadged and added a subtle M3-style spoiler to mine, which I think finishes the rear end off nicely.

Very nice ArsE90.

On closer inspection all of the interior pics from adverts only seem to have the extreme left and right 'extras' buttons in use which are the heated seats. Have not seen a full set of buttons used yet. Hmmm

Thanks. It'd be difficult to find a fully-specced one. Heated seats and PDC were essential for me!

I've also noticed on some cars, maybe the LCI, that the heated seat buttons are higher up the console.

The design around that area is different depending whether you have sat-nav or not.

The heated seats button are just inside the round dials.

I understand the right hand dial was also changed to 'All' and if you hit that the temperatures are the same on both sides of the car.
