The girlfriend picked hers last Saturday and I must say I think it’s a excellent car, we took it up to Penrith for the week to put some miles on it and it was great fun, so much so I thought I’d really miss the Griff but when driving this I completely forgot about it, she’s really pleased with it as well which is great, its feels like it would be great fun on track but her insurance doesn’t cover track days so that’ll have to wait a while.

Very impressed!

Only problem is you lose the warranty on anything they touch, so I said keep it for 2 years as it is, then get then conversion as they warrantee it for another year and BMW will cover the rest, it doesn’t hang around anyway and she’s coming from a 998cc mini so I think its got enough for the time being

There is a guy on Evo who has booked his S into Hartge for 210BHP and big brakes - The dealer has agreed to honour the warranty and even the TLC package.

Hartge warranty the bits they touch so nothing is adversely affected.

Or you can get the fully BMW approved John Cooper Works conversion to 200bhp!

Yeah but when I spoke to Mike Cooper they were looking at £3700-4000 for basically the same conversion!

It's plently fun at the moment anyway!

Nice one Paul, there great little cars aren't they! They get a bit quicker with milage (ours definately feels more spritely with 2.5k on the clock). What colour/spec did you go for? I'm trying to convince the missus to come to a trackday with me and let me give her some 'tuition'!

She went for electric blue with a black roof, but got a white roof as someone somewhere cocked up the order, BMW are spraying the roof dark metallic silver for us so it’ll look a little different, it’s also got the chilli pack, CD with the boost kit, climate control, and a few other bits I think.

We’ve done 1580 mile since Saturday and it’s starting to feel even more lively. Jane would like to get it on track but will probably wait until next year where she’ll try and get track day cover on her insurance.

Are you going to VW with yours on Sunday?

I nearly took the plunge too, dark silver with a white roof. I heard that the black roofs are prone to warping in the hot sun, so maybe that white roof is a godsend.

Well it's a bit late now as its in the body shop, should look nice with the dark silver though and a bit difference.

We went for Electric Blue / White, chilli with 17" s, CD Boost, Blue / black half leather.... and bonnet stripes (they come off easily enough if we get bored, very eyecatching though! Funnily enough my missus is called Jane too, hopefully I'll get her on track sometime this year! I think I'm taking the TVR and she's taking the Min on Sunday, so I'll keep my eyes open for you....

Were the cars rolling roaded before fitting? Only reason I ask is that the dealers where we got ours took a couple of standard cars along to a rolling road session and all got over the specified bhp. 163 to 200 is a gain of 37bhp, sounds a bit unbelievable for an exhaust system!

So how much are we talking for this system, also what does it sound like?

Hi Paul, yes cars before/after on the dyno and it sounds really good! and yes the Cooper S quoted power figures are rather conservative...

I Can't realy advertise on here or Ted (& his paying advertisers)will understandably be a little unhappy, so best to contact me via e-mail for more info
