I've been quoted between £205 and £230 for an Oil Service for my E39 530i Sport at BMW Main Stealers.

Anyone suggest a good Indi around Manchester, and how much should I expect to pay for an Oil service?

Cheers

Depends what part of Manchester you want. You've got BayMoW in Stockport or David Paul BMW in Latchford (East Warrington).

Although an oil change is a very quick job (probably 30 mins if you include the time you leave it to drain) - and doesn't take much common sense to do.

Cheers matey,

I feel like I've already changed the oil as I've topped the oil up so many time in the last 6 months!

Will try the Stockport one as a bit nearer - I'm currently North Manchester, soon to be East Manchester!

Thanks. smile

ask for fourplus discount, also try ringing around a little more, and supply your own oil.

Hi mate,
I go to a mate of mine in the Poynton area - he's an ex BMW head mechanic so knows his stuff (Used to work on the X5's and the M cars) smile

I have exactly the same car as you - some tips on how to reduce the cost at main dealers.

a) Supply your own oil. You can get the Castrol Edge 0w30 they will use for about £80 for 8 litres. Your car takes 6.5 litres so you'll have some left for topups

b) Ask them not to bother with a microfilter change. This knocks £50 off the bill. The filters themselves are available from GSF for £14 a pair. The job is so easy anyone can do it, you literally open a box and change the filter.

Using these tips means the last service I had cost me £210 - it was an Inspection 1, at a main dealer, including a loan car.

BM Tec in Central Manchester, directly opposite Salford Central train station.

BMW trained mechanics, and very reasonable prices, plus their work is excellent.
