How much did they cost! Better value than AP/StopTech?

Under £1k for six-pot fronts, four-pot rears, four discs (bigger than stock) and full set of pads.

That's a bargain. My floating calipers on my 3.8 M5 are £700 each!

What do the calipers weigh?
What diameter, thickness, offset discs?
any pics of the rear?

If possible please.

BMW dealers retail the kit for £1150 inc vat. With a bit of phoning around it's easy enough to get them down to less than £950...

What models do they fit? That is an unbelievably good price, I'm assuming it's only for the current range though, not older models.

Think it's basically any of the current 1 series and 3 series range, though the 135i already has almost exactly this setup, not sure about the 335i. And of course the M3 probably has better brakes than this already biggrin

I believe the 135i has the same kit but in grey rather than gold.

Does seem cracking value as the last set of APs I bought were £1500 for the fronts alone!

Oddly enough I believe BMW won't fit them to a 335i or 335d as they are 'unsuitable' but I know that they do fit so that is just odd!
Don't even think current M3s have brakes that appear to be so good (certainly not got 6 pots as standard) but have no idea how well they work.

I am really interested to find out your thoughts on these when they're fitted - a proper little review would be good. Come on man, hop to it!

Do you think they'd look good on a Le Mans Blue 3 series? I think they'd look cool. The current calipers are so dull.

Have you spoken/will you speak to your insurance co about them? Any premium increase?

Guess there's no way to make them fit an E46 then?

Will they fit/improve on the standard M6 brakes? Going to be doing a few trackdays and heard the std one's overheat too quick.

Did you manage to get them fitted today Pete, or didn't you recover enough from the SAS dinner to face getting out the spanners? smile

It all comes down to marketing. iirc the BMW Performance BBK are the same calipers as the 135i has. For around 1 grand I reckon it is a decent upgrade but don't compare them to AP/ Mov'It and such. Also, the 135i calipers are most likely not suitable for hard-core racing although I don't have any experience with that.

To recap. A very nice looking system and apparently rather good value in the UK but not in the same league as Mov'it, AP.
