Hello all , I currently run a 330ci which I love dearly but my dealer is putting me into a 325ci for a day whilst we have a software change on our new X3. I had no intentions of changing my convertible but if he can make the monthly payment roughly the same why the hell not? I always thought my next car would be more a sportscar but we love getting the roof down and the sensible side of me says we will get equivalent performance from the 325 but with more economy. BMW's tech stats suggest a combined MPG of 37 which is 10 more than my 330 averages on a mix of A and M roads into work. Is this true and accurate?

Finally has anyone else done this upgrade and found the roof to be an issue? For istance if we have it down and want to pick up a bit of shopping where on earth do you put it because its not going in the boot for certain! With the roof down the boot space is enough for a hockey stick but thats it!

Any other comments from owners welcome please , thanks

I am bumping this as almost in the same position.

The boot with the roof down is a joke, E46 is so practical. I have driven the 325i and not as fast as my 330ci but a nice car, and Gordon Brown is stopping any fun on the roads so wel may be asking what the point of a super fast car is as time progresses.

P.S, Anybody interested in a 330ci in Orient Blue then shout.

The E92 cab is heavier thanks to the folding hard top, and the 325i is down on power compared to the E46 330ci, so it won't be as quick.

If you want roof down fun and had been tempted by something sportier, why not go for a Boxster S with a few years under its belt. Infinitely more fun to drive.
