E39 rear demister kills radio & TV reception?

As per the title. I don't drive mine during winter unless the roads are salt free. But the times I have driven the car and the rear is misted, when I turn on the rear demister, it kills the radio and TV reception. When dad had his two E39's, I can't recall this happening - 2002 would have been the last time I drove the last one, before he replace it with a E60.

Is this normal on E39's or do I have a dodgy ground?

Our 530d did this - BMW replaced the rear screen under warranty and then it stopped doing it.

Mine does it, havent got round to sorting it yet. Its the first E39 I've had that does it, the 535 and 520 saloons didnt...wasnt sure if it was a touring trait.

My E39 touring does this, sometimes, can't be arsed to find out whats up tbh, just one of those things......

Mine too, anybody any idea, prefer not to replace the window as my insurance has been hammered already for two windscreens.

It seems it can be caused by an element that is damaged/scratched.
