Part Worn Run Flat
Discussion
I picked up a nail in one of the rear runflats on my 320d and decided to change both tyres, so have had one in the garage as a spare in case it happened again.
Typically I'm changing the car next week for one with different sized wheels. (Up from 255/35/18 to 255/35/19)
Is there anywhere that I can easily sell the tyre (no idea on mileage, but seems to have plenty of life left), or do I throw it in the boot and let the dealer sort it?

Have you heard of this new-fangled thing called ebay?
I don't think it will ever catch on though.
I'm out in the sticks, and shipping a tyre will be expensive. One of my mates put one up last year and it didn't sell, it's still in the garage.I don't think it will ever catch on though.
I think it's an issue with Runflats, people don't trust that they haven't been run flat (especially selling a single tyre)
I'll have a look at the eBay thing, it may be good to know in my work as an IT Advisor!
Thanks

I'm currently considering dropping my RFT's to put some real tyres on, similar to you I have loads of thread left. My plan was to use eBay or possibly ask my local part worn shop if they'd take them off my hands.
What RFTs do you have at the moment?I swapped from Yokohama (rubbish ride, but nice and slippy) to P Zeros and the ride, MPG and grip is way better, so far the rears are 25000 old and still have some tread to go. Not as good as the ride in an F30 though (current car is E90 M-Sport on 18s)

If you have 255/35/18 potenza's I'll have them.
What's the condition and tread depth.
It's a Yokohama - tread is pretty good. It was taken off because the other side picked up a nail, and I thought it best to swap both on the axle and hang onto this one in case I drove through more shrapnel. What's the condition and tread depth.

Part worms are sold for next to nothing, including fitting by your local third rate dealer. Who, with any sense would want to pay for one tyre, with a delivery cost, that they then have to pay to have fitted?
Your mistake was not having your punctured tyre repaired, may as well bin or give away, your spare.

No, nothing to do with being an RFT which can be examined for condition just like any other tyre.

I totally agree. But I had driven around 200 miles on the tyre, so I don't think it was worth saving.Part worms are sold for next to nothing, including fitting by your local third rate dealer.
