Z4 3l petrol cab

Had the wishbone bushes done on my '04 E85, 62k miles on the clock. Cost me £140. No other problems so far. It even works quite well with runflats (unlike my E61).
Only real negative for me is the rubbish standard stereo, but that seems to be a common complaint for many BMW owners with the basic factory setup.

Personally I wouldn't look at a post 2006 car unless the its has the above issues addressed.
The sticky steering was a nightmare and really put me off driving the car tbh!
Front rear wishbone bushes (lolly pop) need doing around 70-80k
Rear drop links go.
Rear drain holes need to be kept clear, otherwise the roof motor gets submerged in water, listen out for the roof struggling, it should go up/down in around 8/9sec
I also suffered water ingress running down the A pillar.
Mechanically they are bullet proof as it the same m54 lump as the e46 330, there alos pretty quick in a straight line and handle well once the runflats are ditched.

ABS/DTC pump issues are common and expensive.
how to test? With a dealer it's a £2250 or so job, but BMW will make a contribution if the car has FSH etc. at least they did with me. Our 25K 2008 car cost £700, after contribution.
