BMW Z4 Broken rear screen....

Hi, some pesky kids broke my girlfriends rear screen on her convertible Z4 last night. BMw say it needs a whole new roof at £2000 plus!!
Does anyone know if the glass can be replaced without replacing the whole roof? It's a 2003 model.

Insurance company are saying it's not a glass claim (even though this is the only part thats broken!) and she has to pay £600 excess, lose 3 years NCB and get hit with higher premiums next year no doubt!
Any lawyers in the house on how to argue this as it's clearly broken glass which should be a glass claim, it's not our fault if BMW don't sell the glass seperatly!
