Do e46s have an appetite for wheel-sensors?

As title really - I've seen it alluded to on forums before, but wanted to get the PH view. Do e46s have the same propensity to require new wheel-sensors that e39s do? I had a 1999 535 that had two failures in the year that I owned it (not to mention a wiring loom problem, but that's another story).

I'm just sussing out whether the time is right to upgrade to a 330 and whether an e46 is likely to be as reliable as my e36 (which so far has needed a just wiper-blade since November).
