Massively Powerful M3 CSL
G Power have been playing...

Wolf in slightly less wolfy clothing?
German tuning firm, G Power, has shoe horned an M5 engine into a BMW M3 CSL body.
The firm has also ramped up the power a bit from the standard 507bhp to 550bhp.
This means that the CSL’s not unsubstantial (limited) top speed of 155mph has been boosted to a world stopping 208mph, while 0-62mph time is now 4.2 seconds and 0-124mph zooms past in 11.6 seconds.
This isn’t a one off car, either. They’ll bung the modded M5 motor into any current 3 Series Coupe, Z4, X5 or new M3 you care to offer them.
If 550bhp isn’t enough for you, wait a while and while they work on their supercharger kit, which boosts the power to a rather tasty 750bhp.
It’s not only power they’ve been fiddling with – they have been working on a suspension kit to make sure the car can actually handle all that power.
All of a sudden that new M3 doesn't look so tempting does it? We are surprised to note however that no reference has been made to pricing yet, and has anyone actually heard of G Power before?

Imagine 750bhp in a Z4! Flooopin Heck! Bet the CSL is even more of a drift king now! Or a widow maker?

Hmmm
Prefer the idea of an ESS Supercharger for that power onto a CSL engine, rather than a huge V10...
No mention of the gearbox, have they managed to mate it to the 6spd SMG?

Er, surely that is your job in reporting the story? i.e. do some digging around to give Pistonheads the exclusive lowdown rather than simply reproducing their PR blurb?

I've known Gpower for 4 years. Bought an adjustable suspension from them and although it all seems like OEM stuff they claim to have tested they sent me 3 (yes THREE times!) springs that would deform in 3 months! Oh yes, each time i write to them an email it takes 3 reminders to get an answer (if you do) and when you ask for a replacement they want you to pay for the new springs!!! These guys are just not for real...
The rest of their products are ok, I bought some headers (which are identical to supersprint's model) and im quite happy with it.
As for their performance chips, the dealer in Koblenz who is supposed to know about them didn't know squat about them!!!
I dont trust my business anymore with these bozos...

0-62 in 4.2? surely given the spec it should be faster than that.

Yes please!!!!!!! I adore this thing!!!! Only give me back the original CSL wheels. I like the fact that they didn't change the exterior at all!! They only changed the only thing that always disturbed me on the CSL. The air intake on only one side. As it's a V engine it now needs two of them and it looks ten times better!!! But I don't think it will handle as good as the standard one. The V10 sure added some more kg... Here are some more pics: http://www.g-power.de/391.html?&L=1&tx_ttn...

yet another obscure me too, tuner comming out with huge HP claims, that will likely double or tripple the cost of the car, then there's the question of can the car actually handle all that power, the 3 series was never designed for a 700hp output, just seems a little pointless to me

Surely a V10 Z4 would handle like a bag of spanners round a track. Fun on the Autobahn I guess though.

Probably can't get all of that power down. Looks like it's a winner with the 0-124mph time though - Floopin Heck!

I notice the article didn't mention brakes!! I'm sure the CSL's brakes are very good but almost double the output and suddently you need cruise liner sized anchors

I'm sure the CSL's brakes are very good but almost double the output and suddently you need cruise liner sized anchors er, why would you need hugely bigger brakes ? You're retarding similar weight, (but guess engine is heavier), from similar speeds; not trying to retard the beast whilst still applying maximum power. If power had a direct relationship to braking requirement you probably couldn't fit big enough discs to a Veyron without also fitting tractor-sized wheels. Or am I missing something, (which is entirely likely).
