Been watching my videos back and made good progress again. Down to 1:58's now which I'm happy with given I started at 2:08's 5 track days ago. I don't really understand how but I'm finding 2-3 seconds each day. I don't imagine it'll last much longer though.

Much more consistency this time round being in the right group. No real issues with traffic so was able to get my head down and concentrate.

Having the shock release all of its oil wasn't great and the back end was a bit bouncy but looking at the video didn't affect times too much. Both ends need sorting as under braking the back was in the air quite a lot making corner entry interesting.

Here's a video of the second session, the White bike in front was hebegb;

I didn't realise hebegb was there. Take it he was the guy next to Yazza.

Good effort, showed some machinery the way home lad biggrin

Good day for sure - some great track time with good people -shame your progress was curtailed Tom by the shock letting go ... You were going pretty well , relatively , and it's probably best it showed its hand then rather than in the afternoon , once suspension and pressure settings were dialled in and we ( Tony / Simon /myself were doing 5 /6 seconds a lap quicker than .58s, some videos to,post up tomorrow .....
Nice to meet Neil (McKean) and Simon on their way home ( Swindon/Jock land) via excellent Bolton Currry emporium .....

Definitely a great day and amazing weather! Started pretty cold but got better and better.
Step by step:

Arrived at 6.30 with my mate John and his 675 Triumph and got a garage for everyone.
My bike fell off the trailer and killed itself.
Everyone showed up and I met some great people again.
We shared the garage with Luke Smith from the True Heroes BSB team on his Panigale.
Myself, Yazza and Clen missed the first session due to noise failure and brake failure.
Loon blagged a bike but then broke it.
Tom was loving it in the fast group and rode brilliantly.
All you guys in the fast group were super awesome and handsome too.
Moto3 and GP125 bikes are fast, the riders are tiny.
Yazza still hadn't smiled due to a weaving and wandering bike.
I got faster but decided that having brakes would probably help a little more.
Met Shrew, another nice guy from here, the only nice sub forum on PH.
We had lunch, I had tuna and sweetcorn butties, not sure what the others had!
Loon used Fleegles ZX10 and decided it was super awesome and his BM was poo.
Fleegle got tired.
Yazza buggered about with his bike and didn't put his tyre warmers on, he waved as i came past him and tried to keep up bless him, he did for 3 corners and then wobbled off.
Clen tried a killer pass on someone but the track wasn't wide enough, oops, he is fine and the bike isn't too bad really.
Fleegle was still tired and so was the nice gent on the RSV who I have forgotten his name.
Everyone hates Hondas seemingly.
I like beige.
Tom gave up at this time and went home due to a murdered shock, he rides that thing well and it is a favourite from the pitwall.
My mate ran on at Hizzys.
Yazza finally overtook me after staring at my backside all session, someone else on a rather smart ZX10 overtook me sideways, we all went wide and the guy who overtook went on tje grass.
I might try inters next, Yazza told me I was great and I believe him.
Yazza smiled as his bike is actually ok and he enjoyed himself.
We all packed up after agreeing that we all had a good day, even clen was smiling!
I put my bike back on the trailer and it didn't fall off.
I still want a van though.
My left rotor has a 8mm warp, yikes.
I went home unscathed again and proved to my wife that i don't die every time i sit on a bike.
You lot had a curry, i didn't so hopefully next time!

Thanks again everybody for a great day and a great atmosphere, it's being around you all that helps to get through the day, I get good advice off everyone and it is very much appreciated as I made a few amateur mistakes (cheers loon).

Good day all in all. Found riding on dymags a mindfk at first and only really got my head around it towards the end. Had a few fun dices with curlie in the last two sessions, was a laugh.

Shame about clens bike but I'm sure it'll be ready for croft.

Our conversation put yazza to sleep.
Loon told me I was too st to join his endurance team.
Hebegebe gave me a bear hug (I never normally get so close to FE instructors)

I think the track was fine, it was me forgetting which way it went and staring straight at the tyres that caused me to plow into them!

Fixed the bike. It now has a better brake than it ever had.
The carrier was bent not the braking disc so a few hits with a persuader has sorted it.

Before anyone says it just don't wink
It will be fine.

Who needs brakes anyway??

I'll have a 19 RCS MC going soon if anyone needs/wants. Preferred the 19x20 so gonna throw that on. Get the shock serviced then ready for croft, that's me done now till then.

Finally got back home!

Had a great weekend ooop North and we were certainly blessed with the weather. It was good to meet some new BBers, sorry so many of you had woes but we knew it was going to be one of those days when we saw curlies bike listing off the side of the trailer.

It was my first outing on the zx10 and it started on a bad note having to feck around with the back brake while changing wheels. That is my first job on the bike I think as I can't be doing with that agg every time. I was a little anxious about noise testing but it went through at 100 with the baffle in.

The first session was a bit of an eye opener. I found myself tipping the bike in too early and having to correct myself. The bike feels much lighter with much quicker steering than my R1, and by comparison the R1 felt quite lazy on the corners. The other revelation was how the power came on. By feck, it's like a switch. A few more sessions in and I was finding my feet and getting more comfortable. The bike feels absolutely planted and never once felt the bike wallowing or bouncing. The brakes were immense.

Having had a look at the small amount of footage I took, I was hitting around the same lap times as I was with the R1 although it did feel faster. So for the first outing I'm not disappointed

I'm feeling like a broken man this morning. I'm definately not bike fit and I feel like my arms have been pulled out their sockets

I need to get myself booked onto another asap

For what should've been a day spectating for me due to my bike woes, I ended up having a blinder of a day.

I was lucky Matt was running the day as he decided to give me an instructors wristband so I had the freedom to go out in any group. I was going to need a bike though to be able to do that though. Matt then generously lent me his race Blade. I went out on it with it set up perfectly for him. He's about 5 inches shorter than me and about 5 stone lighter.

It was a revelation. So light and it turned so quickly, especially without a steering damper. The engine was pretty weak compared to the BMW's. Matt knows that but as he knows his stuff he knows it's putting out about 165 and will be replaced with a fully blueprinted one that will get 180max he reckons.

Race shift though. Took ages to get my head around it, but I can see the advantage at some parts where I'm bouncing off the limiter in 2nd and can't get 3rd in my road shift trackbike whereas with this pattern a little tap down and we're accelerating again.

That run sadly came to an end as the radiator sprung a leak.

Fleegle then came to the rescue with a hugely generous offer to use his. I had to drop to Inters as he was out in Fast but that was probably good as I wasn't pushing too hard on it.

Wow. Just wow. What a bike, the power is immense, but it just gripped and pulled and turned so easily. It took me a while to stop 50ping every corner as you have to leave it so late to turn otherwise you'll be turning well before the corner!

So grateful to both Matt and Tony for the loans of their bikes and both have made me think a lot about what I need to do to get mine set up right.

At least my Chinese rearsets make mighty fine ploughs, they still seem solid too. Snapping the rear brake peg off might be beneficial for me though.

Here's yazza tinkering, think he was like that after every session
