Lol... yes a guy has a PhD so we he's right about everything! Queue applause! I know a good few people who have PhD’s and it doesn’t really phase me I am afraid. I am not awed by any perceived intellectual superiority.

All I am saying is that people should be able to exercise their freedom to choose or not to choose to vaccinate 'their' kids.

I don't give a fk if you guys want to burn me at the stake for having this view. I also think big Pharma are s without the played out conspiracy theorist st being pushed at me. THEY ARE S!

I think this Jo person has the right to choose and people should be allowed to differ in opinion without being lambasted for a point of view.

Anyway bored now… That’s really all I have to say. .. you guys can wk each other off in a circle for all I care, if it validates you…

I think your talking ste and backtracking. This is prolapses field of expertise, he is educated to the standard required and is making a profitable career in it. He does this for a living. Yet you have your fag pack opinion and belittle him. This has nothing to do about intellectual superiority. Its about knowing what the fk your talking about and not forming your opinion from the daily mail or links you see on facebook.

"All I am saying is that people should be able to exercise their freedom to choose or not to choose to vaccinate 'their' kids." Here in lies the problem. People are fking idiots, people like yourself use Google to be an expert on everything, yet know fk all. You said yourself you don't have time to trawl through the internet because your at work. Seriously.... The industry that has spent billions trying to better the health of mankind knows less than your twenty minutes on google.

Interested by what measure you state big Pharma are s?
Do you buy petrol?? Do you visit the Supermarket? Do you use a mobile Phone? Do you use electricity? How are Pharma such s by comparison??

Maybe these people should spend some time in countries or continents where the effects of vaccinations or the lack thereof can really be taken in. It's very easy to condemn them from living in a society free of the scourge of such diseases.

Wow you really do talk a lot of st too.

If you think people who have read or feel that somehow all these vaccines are not good for their kids are in somehow more dangerous then Big Pharma you have a screw fking loose.

Again as I work for living I dont have the internet time to debate this fully with you so I will revert to your mode of expletive use to remonstrate I think what your saying is full of st.

Either you work for Big Pharma, you dont have kids which can influence your decision making... but your opinion is fking wk.

You sad fkers need to stop having a go at this Jo person and getting a fking life.
I don't have a PhD I went straight to work after my degree in Immunology and Toxicology (so did study vaccines). I'm also not having a go "at this Jo person", I dip in and out and don't even know what she is. I was supporting another poster about a topic I feel strongly about as a father and scientist.

I've worked for about 8 years monitoring this sort of thing for the NHS, Universities, big pharma and contract research organisations so I have a good insight into the processes. Currently I work for what is a very ethical pharmaceutical company.

If you don't have time to debate the matter I won't go through the rationale. But let me be perfectly clear, in the absence of evidence by going against the findings of independent medical advice regarding the vaccination of your child you are failing them as a parent as you jeopardising their health an potentially the wider community as well.

I'll have you know I have a 2:1 BSc and it only took me 4 years at one of the worst universities in Scotland.

I also got a D in A level chemistry, and took two attempts for my driving test.

Exactly this. MTB is 100% here.

"I don't care if you're a qualified expert in the exact actual thing we're discussing - I know better and won't listen to you! LALALALALALALALALALALALALALA!"

Is the actual supposed counter-argument I have ever heard for anything ever. With debating skills of that calibre you should be on some of the anti-Islam threads in News, Politics and Racism - you'd be a king amongst men.

Any of your kids or kids' friends contract Polio lately? Smallpox? No... didn't think so, but don't let a lack of scientifically rigorous method get in the way of anti-vaccers spreading their 'anecdotal evidence' and quotes from happy clappy homeopaths/witchdoctors to put my children and their own children's health at risk.

Sadly she's also an idiot, her son has autism and she believes food and vaccines caused it and so has him on an incredibly restricted diet and thinks that his autism will be cured by alternative means.
Putting a foil hat on here. Don't they test for nagalase enzyme protein in cancer cases, the same stuff they put in vaccines and the same stuff found in high levels in autistic children? Restricted diet probably her only option.
Ok in short as I'm on my phone:

Nagalase ( alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminidase ) is a protein that is excreted by some cancers, this has the effect of blocking the production of GcMAF.
GcMAF is used in the creation of macrophages and macrophages are cells that can be used by the body in 'killing off' bad cells in the body such as cancer.
As a result testing for nagalase can be a useful test for detecting cancer.

I can't find any reliable studies or reports on nagalase being found in vaccines or high levels being found in children, all the studies I can find have either been retracted, are of extremely dubious quality or I'm unable to find anything more than a press release (usually posted on an anti-vaccine/autism website fwiw)

As for nagalase being controlled by a restricted diet, it's highly unlikely to work due to the way nagalase is produced and by the cells that produce it, any diet that keeps a human alive will be enough for the cells inside said human to produce nagalase. Obviously I'm heavily simplifying here, as writing on a phone isn't fun.
There are no reliable studies. It's utter bullst, just like that fking Andrew Wakefield spouted before he was done for fraud and stripped of his GMC status.

Just more hippies coming up with more bks. I read some of the websites and the level of misinformation is actually dangerous, but some homeopathic water quaffing idiot will believe it, then deny their kids vaccines which could save their child's life or someone elses. Like the nurse who died of measles the other year because some ignorant tt didn't vaccinate their kid despite clear guidance to do so.

The new age bullstters are far more dangerous than big pharma. Pharma only ever came after your wallet, these fkers are coming for your kids.
Thanks, you added to what I said in an excellent manner, I'm not one for just jumping in and shouting bks but equally I don't feel providing endless paragraphs is helpful either. :-)

I'm happy to leave it alone but we're not discussing what your favourite colour is, but is a matter of scientific truth, saying, "I think 2 +2= 5, because that's my opinion" makes anyone sound foolish.

You need to look at the evidence, I cannot stress enough how important a decision it is to base on reasoned independent thought rather than these individuals who, ironically, have more of a vested interest than most people who work in the evidence-based healthcare sector.

Get a Ben Goldacre book for Christmas.

I'll take that onboard. However this a disscussion to be had in person to manage the discourse.
