Nice.I don't mind Jay, he sounds like a solid bloke and has the life that most of us would try to pursue with his budget. He knows his way around a workshop to say the least, doesn't seem to have a bias towards any type of vehicle or brand and seems very humble in the process.
But, his reviews always involve some "special" guest. Sometimes in the realm of Mr. Pagani himself. This makes that he usually does nothing but praise the vehicles he gets to use, maybe in fear of losing the privilege the next time or just out of courtesy of not wanting to offend the guests, but it hardly makes for a decent review or even good opinion ime.
Getting rid of that slab of an exhaust must certainly help to bring the weight down:

240KG is heavy but I bet you could take 15KG off in exhaust!
with the extra torque from the supercharger its gonna pull still, and as its "minor modifications" I bet a pulley change would provide a good lick of extra power!
No doubt itl still be a rocket ship but aren't most super sports 1000's circa 200kg wet. An extra 40kg's is like carrying a small person on the back. with the extra torque from the supercharger its gonna pull still, and as its "minor modifications" I bet a pulley change would provide a good lick of extra power!
Obviously itl most likely still be awesome and hopefully still turn nice and sharp but I was expecting closer to 200kg
I watched Jay Lenos review of both bikes, and first impressions on the looks are good. They could easily have messed it up by going to concepty. The Kawasaki guy seemed a bit 'limp' though.. I wanted to hear more facts and figures on its specification.
I had a GPz750Turbo back in the early 90s, and loved it. If any manufacturer can pull off the forced induction bike, Kawasaki can. I'm sure it won't be long before a tuner is swapping the pulleys, remapping etc.. for more boost!
I just hope we don't suddenly get a repeat of the late 80s/90s officialdom when Herr Bangemann(?) wanted to impose the 100bhp limit. To protect us..from ourselves!

Damn just seen the jay leno video, the road one looks amazing, with the lime details on the black & grey. The Kawa guy seemed nice but was being deliberately vague, no details on the weight or price. He says "in the range of current supersport bike" which, frankly, 240kg isn't at all. That's 20% too much to be "in the range".
Still,
Well if nothing else they started the super charger development race.... should have some benefit in the end.... however those numbers just do not add up - that bike will be very slow round anything with corners. bizzarre project - but bravo ! get it sorted and i'll see you in a few years time.

Yeah I think I remember seeing snippets of it being filmed a few weeks ago so he might not of known final figures. It seemed when they were talking about the price it made the kwaki guy a bit unfmcomfortable as well. Maybe he knew it was going to be more than what Jay was saying. A viable alternative to the newest batch of supersports bikes...I don't really see it. As a cool no doubt awesomely fast standalone motorbike, I definitly appreciate it. and I really want a go!

Agreed, Jay was talking about P1/Koenigsegg/... level of performance, sub $30k, which made him seem a bit uneasy.A viable alternative to the newest batch of supersports bikes...I don't really see it. 5vy is 191kg with 1\2 tank of fuel.Obviously itl most likely still be awesome and hopefully still turn nice and sharp but I was expecting closer to 200kg
The crossplane crank versions are 205kg with half a tank.
Sv1000s is 220kg again with 1\2 tank.
That 240kg has come from motocyclenews, as they don't have one to weigh how did they get that number ?
really interesting bike from the technological side of things, i know someone who has placed an order, so will no doubt get to hear from him how good/bad it is and i am pretty sure it will be fast enough for him although he did decide that his zx10 wasnt fast enough so had it remapped

SS7
213kg dry weight will be about 240kg wet ...I really don't know why manufacturers quote dry, its not like we can ride the bike with no fuel, oil or water
at 240kg and 200bhp ish for a road bike the new H2 is not really extraordinary compared with its competition from Honda, BMW, Yamaha, Ducati ....in fact it almost seems a bit outgunned when others are quoting 205-210bhp and 200kg or less wet weights....
of course, all a bit irrelevant for road use anyway
