Loon, you're a man of your word and I'm happy to concede I was wrong (for now at least!).

Gwm, you're a terrible guinea pig.
We did say it was as good as science is going to get on here hehe

Glad to hear everyone is having a belting time!
Defintely the wrong topic to be posting on, but this thread gets plenty of traffic, so I'll stick my question here!
Thinking of selling the wife's FZR 400 RR. It's a 4DX, so genuine UK model, red and white, 14k miles, plenty of history, in better than average condition (scratch or two on tank and O/S mirror scratched), original paint, reasonably low owners given age (22 years old!) - what do folk feel I should be asking?
Don't want to auction it on eBay for the obvious reasons...!

Thanks in advance, Stuart.
£2k? dunno really, the market seems flat at the minute.

Thanks for replying smile
It does seem a bit that way, I think it's a £2k bike all day long, too.
House needs new windows... Lol.
There's not a huge many left now, so that should help.

Can the guys on here that know about tyres give me an idea of whether this has worn good or bad? I've been playing with the shock settings and I'm happy with how it feels but wondered if anyone can tell anything from the tyre wear.

Looks pretty good to me too!
I think if it has a raised edge before the tread groove then the rebound is too slow and a raised edge after would suggest its too fast.

Looking at yours I wouldn't be concerned at all.

Oh dear, oh dear .....
I sense the plod to Pembrey on 1st August may well be back on ....and a "run" out in Inters for Simon , he will probably promise not to lean on you too much each and every time ( I'm thinking...twice a session , short 1ish minute lap ...) he goes past you ......!
I notice one of the TRC "ex-racer" massive did an FE chrono day at Silverstone recently ......and got bumped down from his booked Inters place to Novice ......now THAT ...is Awesome ....!
Good luck - all in good fun !

I don't think you realise how fast Loon is, he's no slowcoach. Maybe next to McKean he is (like me) but he isn't slow.

The new foot peg and bars worked a treat.

I fitted the new pegs onto the old frame plates but for some reason the right one wouldn't quite line up with the holes in the old plates so the right peg is higher than the left.

I will have to drill the holes out but didn't want to ruin the old rear set plates if I wasn't keeping the bike as I would have sold both sets.

Today was the first day that I could ride the bike with a bit of aggression.

Time to sort the standard suspension out and fit my QS

Happy days.

That's great news John, nice to come right after the couple of false starts you've had.
What are you thinking suspension wise??? Something shiny and shexxy or a spit and polish on the existing stuff??

Just some K Tech fork springs for the front and maybe an Ohlins rear, nothing flash.

I'll fit my new race seat unit too, I am used to race seat units and the thin foam set up, running the road seat just feels wrong, I am not sure but I think I am loosing feeling with the standard seat pad.

Some new fairings and a coat of Yellow paint and I'll be back up to speed.
