New exhaust ...

It'll catch on the ground if you go for it.
A couple of scratches won't bother him wobble
He'll have a heart attack if he scratches it, it's all about the looks with Mr OCD.

( I knew that's what you meant)
I'm sure we mentioned the best option for this bike when you first got it Scott , didn't we ?
Photo circa early 2009...

Scratches won't bother me ... It's just a bloody Honda ... wink

Graham, you are right of course ... The bike runs better as well with it! I do like that race lower ... I've been trying to find one!

Nice one! Best looking exhaust for them in my biased opinion smile Why the change from the Yoshi (IIRC)? Is it a full system?

The Yoshimura sounded lovely ... But it made the bike run like a dog even custom mapped ... Bad idling, shunting at under 4K rpm and so on ... Barely went through noise testing on track with baffle, and without baffle was too loud. So after Donnington I didn't put it back on the bike and sold it for what I paid ... This Akrapovic popped up for sensible money so thought would give it a try ... Impressed so far. Just uploaded map to power commander, so if dry tomorrow will give it a whirl on my local stomping ground.

Those wheels are standard on all 2012 > blades ... 08-11 got three spokes ... I fancy the later ones myself but they are going for a grand secondhand ... PVM, Dymags, etc. don't cost much more and apparently the three spokes are lighter.

I thought the idea with the 2012 on wheels were that they were lighter although TBH I think they look awesome compared to 3 spokes so not bothered either way!

Interesting. I won't put a PCV onto mine until after the warranty expires, but it runs lovely with the Akra on. They offered it as an extra when I bought it and it's the road legal one (with baffle in). With the exhaust flap deleted, it actually runs better than with the standard exhaust below 5k rpm, but it's pretty damn perfect everywhere, making long wheelies a doddle. A PCV might make transitioning onto the throttle at low revs a bit smoother though.

Hope it cures your issues you had with the Yoshi.

Ready to go out with the lads at Almeria.

I must admit and even though it does rain in these foreign lands, the track days do look far more appealing.

I can't remember doing a single one where I was hot!

This is the non-cat version, but I was thinking ahead when I bought it as you can change the link pipe for the CAT version if I still have issues like the Yoshimura... Like you the throttle transitions at low revs aren't great on these bikes but I know the 2012> is much better than the 2010-2011 revision. It's the only thing I don't like about the bike hence buying the PCV which even with standard exhaust made a big difference.

Both bikes look great - wasn't trying to be clever with you Scott , just messing , but it is amazing how often when the "question" of exhausts crops up , that the answer is Akrapovic. It matters not a jot to me if or when other people consider it " mainstream" or boringly repetitive whilst being expensive too ....I fit what I consider to combine functionality - performance allied to the adaptability to " mute " enough for any track and not being ridiculously loud for the road , with aesthetics, as they always look the part too. I regard the purchase cost as a large deposit on the eventual very cost effective hire period - as I have always recouped approx. two-thirds of that cost when sold on , two, sometimes three years later .
Ps the forged Ali 12 spokes on the '12 > Blades do look stunning - the match of any aftermarket wheel - no idea on relative weights though !

What I read about the multi spoke '12 wheels vs '11 3 spokes was that there was very little difference weight wise, but that the weight is more centralised to the hub in the new wheels. I couldn't tell a difference that's for sure, but the 12 > wheels looks much nicer

Almeria.

Nice piccies. Weather looks terrible! :-)

If anyone has not seen a hot lap of Almeria (until BN posts his laps on YouTube) they should check out Tito Rabat: https://vimeo.com/98319532
