Croft hairpin? My God that's tight
Oh yeah I used first there too on the R6, but not been round it on the Triumph.

Used it on the last hairpin at Cartagena too, gets great drive out onto the straight!

Pembrey hairpin, pretty much necessary - again, bike / gearing dependent...
Never used 1st on the bike there... I'd be up for giving it a go, but my issue with that corner is I struggle to change down from 5th gear to 2nd gear quickly enough, let alone 1st. How do you do it? (being awesome isnt the correct answer tongue out)

Tried it the once at Cartagena George, but must have had my best run in,and out ,of there all that trip...my bike is known as quite "frisky" and I nearly landed the brake lever guard onto Mike Dickinson's shoulder slightly off and behind to my right ...not sure if i got remotely close to the back brake or if it just came down on its own, but safe to say I nearly looped it/st myself....and so did he ! ...never again..!

Croft

Exit Sunny out in 3rd then up into 4th then drop back to 3rd again for the left hander into the complex, on the gas hard then brake hard dropping into 2nd for the right hander.

Accelerate as hard as you can before braking and dropping into 1st for the hairpin, go to the left (apex) then get on the power as hard as you can, rev it out in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, I was having to change into 4th as the Honda would hit the limiter before dropping back to 3rd for Hawthorns.

Straight line the curbs before braking while dropping to 2nd and tip into the long right hander, snatch 3rd half way around the 2nd chicane and then straight line the curbs again, rev it out in 3rd and 4th maybe snicking 5th just as you pass the dip on the way to Tower, back 3 gears too take Tower in 2nd, again rev the tits off it in 2nd and 3rd before tipping into the Jim Clarke Esses, you'll loose speed through there so rev it out in 3rd again before selecting 4th into sunny in (that takes big balls) hard on the brakes and down to 3rd for Sunny out.

A lap of Croft.

And that's exactly what I was doing...... hehe

Every time I went through sunny in, I kept thinking I could carry a lot more speed, yet every time I couldn't help getting on the brakes too much.

Ref Snetterton on August 15th.

Will get through Mallory a week on Sunday then look at booking something for the Saturday night. Snetterton's only 2 and a bit hours for me but I do fancy a post trackday beer / curry / talk rubbish session,

Well I attempted my first track day at Snetterton on Monday and this happened:

I hit something small and very hard on the outside lane of the M25, which ripped my tyre open and gauged a chunk out of the wheel.

By the time I'd swapped the wheel over and pissed about for a while I had less than an hour to cover the 80+ miles on a spacesaver.

I was so fked off that I didn't bother and instead spent the time sorting out a leaking cistern and a couple of faulty electrical items at home.

So that wasn't much fun really.

It seemed to work on on a 675, not sure I would be doing it on a 1000!

Only reason I tried it was i was watching the Pons racing team testing at lunch on the first day, Alex Rins was doing it in 1st and spinning the rear/drifting it slightly on the exit! Didn't get anywhere near that but definitely was a better drive out.

It seems a decent spec and has got all the bits on it i'd enu up buying...

I'm itching to get it out on track, Thinking of doing a evening sesh at cadwell on the 31/7 just to get my head round the new bike. Anyone else doing cadwell that day?
