Brake lights on aswell, obviously back brake to keep it level. So what happened after this?

Glad no major dramas and looked a good turnout.
We were riding at or around the speed limit just before and then there's the left amd a tight(ish) right. I hit the brakes and my front just skipped as I was turning in, so ran a little wide. Oops.

Oh dear, was the r1 a member? Never good.
No, some guy Dave picked up ... wink
fk off hehe

He blamed it on not knowing the roads, he was ok though and rode within himself afterwards, we all make mistakes.

Enjoyed that, good to put names to faces (sorry I didn't seem to find time to introduce myself to Jazoli, OCD and a couple of others) but nice meeting Hebgb, StuB and Matodan (or whatever his username is lol).

Fair pace, nothing too silly just the way it should be and no one left behind.

First time out on the R1 after first service and it's a bit of a handful with the revs over 10K.

After leaving the PH gang we managed to find another cafe for another cuppa and another hour of banter and gentle ribbing.

Bit gutted when I got home to find the bike stone-chipped to buggery, radiator peppered and flattened, headlights chipped and a smashed indicator - 800 miles on it but looks like it's done 8000 frown

We'll have to get another meet sorted - hopefully in summer and hopefully on clean roads wink

Good to see you again. Was the damage done on the road to Alston? It seemed there was still a lot of stones from the resurfacing done last year there.

The bloke on the milwaulkee R1 came past me at a rate of knots then went straight on ! Thinks to myself "you don't want to take that line, pal"
wink
Made sure he kept it upright then nailed it.

Away out for some medicinal beer, now !

ATop day out - a good long one, almost a full 10 hours in leathers ...( had to call at " me Ma's" before going home ) , some new faces and some regular ....all good.
Highlights - primarily great clear(ish) dry roads, the group coming together from about five different counties., meeting Stu properly and riding with - no surprise - he can obviously haul ass..., riding with Dave for first time - and as he said , he sure beasts that old girl on his " most familiar" roads, awesome , no less, BN fighting with his old track slag , now a very gorgeous looking Lava red R1, evidently a problem with the suspension and a stuck throttle 'cos he had it near vertical for a half mile plus including steering it through two bends in each direction with his knee(s) - no, not on the bars , stuck out in the wind ....and last , but by no means least, Simon ( Loon ) back on the horse - going like a good 'un and laughing and joking at himself for a " wobble "....the lad is back - thank Christ for that , as you were .....
Scott , Rick and a few more good lads all had a great day and it just proves all the bickery bullst banter bks is - just that - cheers all , and......sleep. smile

I just did ... Three so far in fact ...!
The Far East posse ( Tyneside/ Northumberland etc ...steady , calm down...)were all good lads too - couldn't remember all details , the two R1s going very well and all credit to the lad on the Diavel....he couldn't have gone any quicker over that terrain !

Not far past High Force - two or three ahead hit the same pile of stones and it felt like I'd been shot!

Someone mentioned an R1 going straight on - there were a few out today so I was just about to ask who it was until I spotted the 3" of fresh mud either side of the tyres on the guilty bike - always funny when there's no harm done though smile

I didn't know what all the hand signals were about until someone mentioned track bodywork on your bike then all became clear - sorry for thinking to myself "wtf is he playing at??" Lol.

I was on the blue R1, Tight5 (Dave) was the lad doing well on the Diavel and my mate Macca (not a member here) on the 03 red R1 proving what most of us know already - if you're smooth and quick you don't need 200bhp, TC and ABS.

Interesting later in the day with Mr Awesome (BN for those unaware of his true greatness) - he suggested a roll on 'test' - 04 R1 -vs- 2015 R1.
High gear, mid revs and X speed - he got half a bike jump on me and pulled away slowly until X+ speed where I started to reel him in slowly.
How is that possible?

Oh aye, the cheating bugger has a three tooth front sprocket mated to a 90 tooth rear.

No fool like an old fool!

Highlights -

- Meeting everyone
- Getting some more confidence in the bike and myself
- Some great roads, some great moments
- Ice cream - 99 and a flake
- Watching loon and everyone else come past whilst i was at full chat in second.. a 600 will do for me for now
- Using the rear brake for "bantz innit"
- Not knowing where i was for best part of 10 hours..
- Nearly getting killed by two gypsy horses out of control in the middle of the road
- Cups of tea and flap jacks

Low lights -

- Getting sh*t on by a seagull and watching OCD and Shrew piss themselves laughing, and then laughing at myself
- Flint wall and grass verge syndrome/vision
- Hidden dips and oh sh*t moments when helmets disappear down the hill 20feet in front
- Unable to feel fingers, toes, and balls @ Hartside.. That awful moment when you linger in the toilets a little too long to try and avoid going back outside and things get awkward

Looking forward to Oulton on the Tuesday.

Thanks to all, Matt.
