Biker Banter Newbie - KTM RC390

In all the photos that show your chain, the rollers do look very shiny and dry, usually indicative of the lube having long gone. I would glance at your chain maybe every other day and if you notice the silver rollers put some more lube on. They will usually look slightly dark when they have a good covering, depending on what lube you use.

Cheers for this, will keep a more frequent eye on them. Will shelve my plans for a sharper sprocket and glitzy chain
M5 fitted and coping very well with wet commuting duties, especially for the rare moments I get to really ride other than filter monotonously along.
Also bought some of these earlier this week, tenner off Amazon.
I usually wear earphones and am going to stick to them. Not a reflection on the quality of these just personal preference. Well worth a look if you're considering a set of SENAs or similar that are 10 times the price or so. They fit really well and for the money the sound quality is excellent. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000WQIPPO?ref_...

I use a pair of them and then use a Bluetooth receiver for spoken directions from a TomTom Rider, cheap but works. Also bought some of these earlier this week, tenner off Amazon.

Just read about your sidestand falling off. A good tip is to check all the bolts on the bike are the correct torque and then use some of this.
All good now but cheers for the tip. The original bolts didn't have any loctite on at all but the current ones are holding out well. Also a biker banter newbie, so thanks for posting - some useful stuff in there! I'd looked at the RC390 as an option but was offered a deal too good to miss on a CBR300R.
Quick question for you - which tail tidy is that? Did you get the plate made locally, or was that online? The standard one on the back of my bike looks huge!

It's an R&G tail tidy. Quick question for you - which tail tidy is that? Did you get the plate made locally, or was that online? The standard one on the back of my bike looks huge!
Was pulled over last week (for a "chat") and he mentioned the plate, got away with it thank God. Bought it online. I think I mentioned earlier but if I was buying another I'd probably stick to a two liner on a bike with such a skinny rear tyre. Doesn't do it any favours visually. A two liner would also work better as an extra little mudguard

It probably wont bother you as suspect you might not have the bike when its first MOT comes round, but of course the bike would fail with its current single line plate. Am surprised you got away with a chat to be honest. Was pulled over last week (for a "chat") and he mentioned the plate, got away with it thank God. Bought it online. Only other mod has been fitting an ergo seat which is a dramatic improvement over the standard one.
Preparing the bike for sale at the moment and having yet more problems. Gave it a damn good clean at the weekend and then tried turning the bike on. Nothing.
I get a lit up dashboard but then when I press down the starter it clicks, whirrs and dies.
The clock resets back to 01:00 and then the screen dies and error code JY_1.3.2 flashes up. After a quick Google that brings up battery/alt problems which I was already leaning towards so I pulled the battery out and now have it on charge.
The only comforting part of this being that my tracking company are st hot. As soon as the terminals were disconnected I got a text, an email and 2 mins later a phone call. Now I just want to get the battery back in the damn thing as it'll be sods law that someone helps themselves to it while the trackers off.
I'm hoping the battery top up is the easy fix, otherwise it'll have to be recovered.
