Booked on to:
Brands GP - NL, June 14th (Not done it before and would be nice to do it at least once, despite it being less track time and more expensive than the equivalent day elsewhere)
Snetterton - NL, Sat Aug 20th
Portimao - PaceDayz October 21st
Just bought a new bike (GSXR-1000 in Track guise with lots of shiny bits which, let's face it I am unlikely to ever really exploit) so my R6 is up for sale on the usual sites. Lots of nice bits on it and spares and including a single trailer too.

Are you laughing at it not bring real or are you genuinely saying you jump higher
That picture is me and yes I jump higher if I get a good run off the cornerIt was the angle that made me question it, you normally just see people doing a little wheelie and a tiny a bit of air, not mx style like you.

So, mates still not responding to texts & emails about feckin' anyone or anything, NW200 on telly, far too much to drink, moved the semi-dismantled heap of an R1 to the centre of the garage earlier today just to concentrate the mind.
Just booked 20th August No Limits Snetterton for the BB mid-Summer shin dig. Seemed logical.
See you there chaps!
Excellent news Jon - not fancy the double with us - the 20/21st Sat and Sun .. couple of quiet shandies ( when in Rome etc ...)Just booked 20th August No Limits Snetterton for the BB mid-Summer shin dig. Seemed logical.

Did Silverstone GP today. Beautiful day, brilliant facilities, surely the best in the UK? Track may be awful to watch from but it is immense to ride.
And got a session on Yamaha's R1 and R6. Both a hoot, particularly the R6 when i had a nutty BSB rider as my instructor who said, just follow me, you wont crash, just come off the brakes and turn it in, even if you think it's too fast! And he was right, it was ridiculous how much corner speed you can carry!! A real laugh, not ridden a 600 before, grinning from ear to ear when i got in! R1, stupendous bike, seriously capable. I need a yellow one!!

I was there today too. Cracking day, and first time there for a day organised by Silverstone themselves. It ran really well, but my body certainly noticed the extra 5mins of the 25min sessions. I feel battered nowAnd got a session on Yamaha's R1 and R6. Was there a couple of weeks back and did a best lap of 2:57, but got down to 2:46 today without a perfect lap, so happy with that

I test rode the R1 today too. First time on a litre bike for me, and flipping hell it was fast. Couldn't lock myself into the bike though, as found the seat and tank really slippery. A track version would be mega
Edit - now correct funk up on 1** to 2**

I'm probably being an arse here, but your video suggests 2:48, not 1:46. 2:48 is a good time for a newbie there. However, you seem to be putting huge amounts of pressure on yourself with the videos, training, requests for feedback on here (we're not that good, if you exclude the three amigos BN, McKean and StuB). Just enjoy it. Was there a couple of weeks back and did a best lap of 1:57, but got down to 1:46 today without a perfect lap, so happy with that

Maybe I'm just very competitive, but I'm generally happier at doing sporty things that I can feel improvement in and get better at
All I see is newcomers enthusiasm. It's great.
Once you've binned it a few times, showed up in the pissing rain and freezing cold then had a bsb boy go round you in fast group like your not even there you'll become as miserable as the rest of us when it sinks in we are utterly st.
But really glad your enjoying it, you'll make huge improvements just by riding regularly. But don't get disheartened too much, sorry stuck up on times. Weather, traffic or generally being arsed can have a huge effect. Stop going every week though. It's fking me off. I was between contracts for 2 months and the weather was st so I only got to a couple. Now I'm sat working looking outside at the sunshine going....bd.

Blimey you mustve been going like stink! I have an old K1 750 and riding my socks off could only manage 2.29's...I will use lots of excuses now like it was my first time, they put cones on the corner before the straight which added time and err I was running a road rear tyre hahaWas there a couple of weeks back and did a best lap of 1:57, but got down to 1:46 today without a perfect lap, so happy with that

Fair play though! If you are enjoying it thats the main thing
Here was mine https://youtu.be/k4vi6y0BxMs poor 750 had the arse ragged out of it round that track. So fast I was aching for days after that
Did my first bike track day at Snetterton yesterday. Used my friends ZX6R (98 model) track bike.
What a blast! I can honestly say that despite the amount of car track days and Kart races I've done(proper ones), that first foray into bike track days has blown them into the weeds!
We were stuck in the novice group due to inters being full(as were quite a few), and both me and my mate were in the faster bunch thankfully. Obviously there were some guys that were much faster...
Absolutely loved it. Learning how much more speed I could carry into, through, and out of corners, how late on the brakes I could be compared to others, tweaking my lines, getting left for dead on the straights by the litre bikes only to catch-pass them in the braking zone or through corners.
Still buzzing.
Not sure when or if I'll use my R1 on track, or get a track bike of my own. My R1 is specced for track use but I've a lot of money invested in it.
Yeah, I've got the bug again.
