A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 3)
Discussion
Well, some track business looming : bike due first MoT in April so yesterday I rode it a couple of miles in the wind once rains stopped briefly - done , bit of play in rear sprocket carrier bearing - to be changed, but all ok and MoTd, saves messing about when I throw road gear back on and want to use it .....and later grabbed an hour in garage to start changeover to track :
Only got as far as tail unit ,including Ventura luggage racks off, tail tidy, alarm electrics ,lights etc and work forward:
Grabbed another couple of hours on rest of strip back this afternoon:
Repositioned PCV at rear under subframe, tidied up home made partial lockstops by siting inner tube rubber built up to inside fork legs and taped over and cable tied, also slightly better positioning for front mini Brembo m/c reservoir .
All fairings, mirrors lights , horn etc out and off - absolutely loads of weight ! Ready for oil & filter change, new chain, change tyres over refit new rear sprocket bearing , change exhaust for scratched up Ti one and throw track bodywork on. Wish it was as easy going back the other way ....ps anybody want to buy a plate suitable for an RSV4 , pm me...

Not sure what type you have but the key is to get the cut timed right with the change. If the switch triggers before the shift the dogs will get hammered when the power is reapplied while they're not fully engaged
This is my lever and it has a double break system. It will only open the switch when it detects the additional strain of the selector drum being moved so helps keep everything in sync.
It provides a simple n/c output that should be easily wired into any system, or the TCS that it's part of.

Strata is low for the time of year.
It wasn't - we did what we could around the area, but even the ford at the bottom of the Claerwen damn which is usually fairly tame was up to the tanks...we did about 30% of the actual strata trail and then decided against drowning - pop back in the summer instead. George29 said:

id love an R, only thing that stopped me getting one was that forever be stealing bits from it to use on the track bike.
It would make more sense to get an R to use as a track bike, then use the normal one on the road. Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
