Reardy Missus has pre-approved the R1200RT and prefers it in blue. Insurance for a 2008 example fully comp is only 167 quid per year.

st just got real. Now, where to find the folding....

There's always space and suitability for a sportsbike. A GS tractor would suit you tho hehe

I'm not sure you could handle the devastating road pace either.

I just know it wouldn't make my commute any quicker. In fact I reckon it would put and extra 10% on my journey

Only if Spareparts is in charge of route planning or has the Sat Nav and even then its closer to 20%

OP: Whats the list down to now?

VFR1200
FJR1300
Cross Tourer
BMW K1300S
BMW RT

Sorry trying to keep up. All of those seem cracking. The FJR is the oldest in terms design I guess.

But the extra detours are always worth it! I remember doing an unplanned visit to the leaning tower of Pisa in under 3 minutes.

It does seem like there are no bad choices in that bunch. Add to that the cracking looking Kawasaki GTR1400? About the only green machine I'd consider owning, other than a ZX12R.

At 37yrs old though, heated grips, seats and a CD player are winning the day. Should I be worried?!

That was a big giggle. Off main road into Pisa, locate tower, do compulsory YMCA photo, fire up and leave town. From off ramp to on ramp in about 9 mins.

It wasn't 1hr 45, but that was a pretty rubbish ride out in an area not familiar to me. Follow your lead next time, eh?

If you're going to lead, surely you should ensure your posse managed to pull out into the traffic before disappearing from a roundabout

I vaguely remember similar at the Eifel Tower, in the Dolomites, Arc de Triomphe, in the Pyrenees, at the Millau, and a few others... wink

And of course, a proper Spareparts trip has the satnav = avoid motorways hehe

Edit> found a couple smile

Had it two years, toured Sardinia, Corsica, Italy, Croatia etc and due to personal circumstances I sold it in the UK. Now I'm buying a new KTM 1290 Super Adventure, got a fantastic deal in Euros. Due to the exchange rate, I just need to add 2.5kGBP and I have a new 1290 SA, not bad for 2 years biking on a new bike smile I will miss teh DCT, fantastic gearbox, just hope the other manufacturers start to offer it also.
Silver993tt / Steve

How do you find the width of the 1290SA? I'd consider one, but am a bit concerned that it would make a BMW GSA look like a heroin chic model, hence make filtering difficult....
