Good run? Did you show loon the way as he is a bit slow? I was too hungover to go far today.

Holding a steady speed that's north of 90 and not too much braking and just using sweeping lines is pretty well it for the road, unless you want to go proper hardcore. Once you've nailed that then you're sorted.

Forgot to say that it was an interesting day as usual

  • saw Paul Bird in his Lambo in Penrith
  • the immediate aftermath of a head on bike vs car crash. Bike's fault.
  • more and more drivers are panicking when a bike appears behind them and slam on the brakes. It's pretty scary when a car that you were slowing for suddenly sheds another chunk of speed for no good reason.

I can't remember the last time I felt so sore with riding a bike, my wrists, my arse and my hip are agony. 30 miles from home I was thinking about leaving it somewhere and getting the Mrs to pick me up.

Bloody smart that Lambo.

We also saw a duck and a load of little ducklings crossing the road, it was the highlight of my day wobble

Just me then?

Oh and Scott killed a sparrow

Tell you what I saw just outside of Moprpeth this morning a bloody great big bird about 3 ft tall crash over the top of a hedge with a rabbit or hare in its feet/claws. It was fkin massive and the bugger just missed me when it took off in front of me.

I would have been off the bike if I had hit it.

I hope it doesn't know where I live, I wouldn't fancy my chances against it.

Oh and I think it was a Blue X5 that nearly hit me head on when he decided to take my side of the road through a corner.

I kept calm and did what I did all without a bikesafe course under my belt.

I saw the duck and chicks too, I even tried to get the guy in the car to slow down and not kill them.

Suicide squirrel and then hundreds of them dead in the road. What was that all about?

It's not really suited to the road is it.

I work with a few lads from Morpeth who use "mort" instead of "burd" or "lass" all the time, if you travel as far south as Crammy then no one knows "mort". See also "bari", another word from Morpeth micro-dialect.
