guy fitted them to his road bike,
left them on for years,
took them off,
found this damage.
To be fair, would any of the other manufacturers products have faired any better?
Probably not, however a wee warning wouldn't have went a miss.

To be honest, I don't bother with casing protection on my road bike, if I drop it fk it the things insured.
That sort of thing is bound to happen you will just end up trapping in water salt etc.

If you fit them its probably not a bad idea to cover everything in a protection before you put them on, even if you whack a shed load of high temp grease, copper slip or something. I think me saying something like that means im turning into my Dad eek

Being serious for a second...A look on the 675 website and GB stuff seems to be plagued with problems.

This certainly put me off fitting the engine casings to my road bike.

The chap just fitted them and left it like so, and this was the results...
I've had them on all my bikes and never had a problem with them. It looks like whoever did that used glue to stick them on?

But GB engine covers are clear of the actual engine casing. There is a small gap between so that they don't touch and melt. The only reason why the corrosion on the engine casing would happen is if they are fitted incorrectly.
