OK a black lid is not ideal when it's hot and I found this out at Anglesey. I have a Shark Vistor R which is a cracking lid But not very vented and was not nice to wear when it was very hot.

I am aware that trying them on to see if they fit is the most important BUT What can the kind people in BB suggest is a very well vented Lid for the Hot summer days we may get. But not often

So Suggestion?

My Arai Chaser V is pretty well vented. I have no experience over other lids, but out riding I can feel the flow of air through the helmet with all vents open. Nice and cool cool

I'd second the Arai recomendation, had a chaser before, now have a RX-7 Corsair, both better airflow than my previous Shoei helmet. Quite fancy trying the new RX-7 GP, but I'll wait until I need to change my current helmet first.

If you like the fit of your shark though, it might be worth looking at the Race-R, one of my friends wont wear anything else now.

My X Spirit 2 is fine in the warm weather, though to look at it it doesn't seem massively vented.

I love my Caberg.

But I think you do need a square head to have one though.

I'll agree with this, I keep checking to see if the vents are open, and they are frown However I did not buy it for the venting, I got it for the Snell 2010

I borrowed a helmet off a mate while I zipped down the road on his 70's DT125, the only one that fitted was a full face white one that looked like it came with the bike!

I'll tell you what. It was the quitest helmet I've ever worn!

No vents or anything. biggrin

I had an Arai Viper GT 'Sinister'. Was nicely vented, two vents in the upper lens, two on top of the head (with 2 different open positions) and one wide on the front.

Used to get a nice airflow around the head when it was warm.

I have a Schuberth S1 Pro, which vents well in the heat. Fairly quiet too...

Who said that?

I got my S1 pro but that like my Shark are not that well vented. both tested in very warm temp. The S1 pro was treated to High 30's in Spain.

I don't mind noisy as more vents are prob going to mean more noise

Another vote for the Arai - not sure what model mine is but it says Quantum on the back - as it has 4 exhausts at the back (not sure how air gets to the bottom two mind), the usual two at the front top, two in the visor and an adjustable chin one.
Better than my Shoei XR1000, the visor vents make a big difference.

That Caberg looks mental. I wish I'd have been wearing one of them the daft old sod decided to pull a U-turn right in front of me. I went through his side window like a glass hedgehog, took 3 of his teeth out & broke his jaw; just think how much more damage I could have done with a cheesegrater stuck on top as well! Brilliant!
