Drivers braking when you catch them up
Discussion
Last year I noticed that some drivers seemed to slow right down as I was catching them up this year it seems like an epidemic, they just seem to slam on and swerve left. Has anyone else noticed this, or is just me veing unlucky?
Anyone any idea why they do this? My only thought is that they're panicking that I'm going to crash into them and react so stupidly that it near enough does end up in a crash.

I believe, from my own experiences, they're basically driving in unconscious conscious mode, drifting along, not using mirrors or really taking in anything, then all of sudden 'you' just appeared, must have been riding like a right loon, so to speak.. y2blade said:
Stop sitting 2inch off their rear bumper then...catch and pass, catch and pass
I don't sit 2 inches off their bumper. I was catching them up and pacing myself to catch them at the easiest point to overtake to avoid getting stuck behind them, at which point they brake hard, for no reason at all, and I was on top of them in a flash.I I'm surprised you even noticed them, just pass them on the double white lines as usual, easy
As an aside I bought a bike yesterday, but its unlikely that I'll be doing many rideouts as its 30 years old and has 45bhp, oh and it currently has no brakes or much in the way of suspension, , although I bet Yazza couldn't keep up with it!

I did, just not into oncoming traffic.

Woohoo on the bike, I knew you'd be back

I am back with a bike, although it's old and a project, I can't ride at the minute due to my ankle falling to bits and being unable to change gear or afford a VFR1200 auto, I'll just have to be content with getting my fingernails dirty and being at the mercy of the the nhs wanting me to have several *'procedures' in theatreWoohoo on the bike, I knew you'd be back

- which means having bits of bone eroded with a stainless steel angle grinder.

Hope it all gets sorted, even if it does sound like a B&Q special

It'll be 'reet, it's a legacy of a bike crash over 20 odd years ago, a stupid 20mph off on a 100cc s
theap, worst case is I'll limp a bit more and have to ride an auto bike, which isn't such a big deal these days

I thought that at first, but they do it in places where there's no chance of overtaking them and shed a load of speed. One today slowed to almost stopped on a blind corner on a narrow road.
Stick a gopro on tomorrow, I'd love to see what is causing them to do this to you!

I get the opposite, driver like to go faster than 30 in a 30 zone it seems and sit 2 inches off my arse, I just slow to 20 to piss them off. I know it's a dick move, but seeing their faces in my mirror gives me a giggle.
Liam I get that on the Blade..sit at 30 and t
tty drivers try to push me along...erm f
