BMW already rules the adventure-touring category with its iconic R1200GS, but for the ever-growing contingent of ADV buyers who never venture beyond paved roads, the ultra-rugged, boxer-powered GS gives up some ground to more street-biased, superbike-influenced competition like Ducati’s Multistrada and Aprilia’s all-new Caponord. Not for much longer, though: BMW is all set to release a more road-biased adventure bike to compliment its best-selling GS, this one based on the all-conquering S1000 superbike platform.

I think that could be a cracking bike. Practical and comfortable for lots of miles but still rapid.

I hope it gets a good sized tank so it has a half decent range.

Just don't let it happen again...

Nah was just pointing out they'd done it if anyone was interested. I think it was the same at least. They called it the S1000F, and the mock up didn't have the GS rear frame like that one. Said it was going to use the S1000R engine.

That might be it, it looks like the Held Air Vest.

The BMW looks like a fun touring bike as well. Power and practicality.

I'm loving the look and concept of this! A perfect daily rider and stablemate to the track/sportsbike and ubertourer.

Not to sure on the spy shots, looks very oddly proportioned with that "sportsbike" rear and fairings on such a high and big bike. Imho the styling looks to be all over the place.

But, of course, it'll sell like hot cakes anyway smile. A side from the 9T BMW don't really sell bikes on looks.

Yeah, it has the makings of a brilliant road bike.
