Cheers guys. I didn't mean to get a Honda, it just sort of happened. I set out for a sensible Van Van 125 and the conversation with myself went something like this in the space of a few hours.
"right buy the frugal sensible Van Van 125, its all you need as a first bike".....
"however the ninja 250 will last longer".....
" Hey GPZ500's are cheap aren't they and rated highly"......
" i should look at the 4 cylinders now as its winter and bikes are cheaper just now arent they?"..... "
"100bhp tourer sport as my first bike.... what can go wrong, CBR600 it is then".

I had a 2001 zx6r as my first bike. Pretty similar to that. On the comfort scale of sports bikes. The power is all up top so to start with they're great bikes to ride around and get some miles done and then as your confidence and skill increases you can keep them in the power better they're plenty fast enough to never feel like you need more for group ride outs etc. .. but you will want more within a couple of years "right buy the frugal sensible Van Van 125, its all you need as a first bike".....

I got one as my first bike. I still have it three years on, and really enjoy it.

Some get lowered, you won't be able to compare unless you take pictures and post them, but on some bikes there are a couple of bars either side of the rear shock linkage, like straps. They are sometimes made longer to lower the back. Then the front gets lowered in the yokes.
Just don't try and prove anything to someone behind you, or in particular keep up with someone in front when you're allowed out after your test is passed. There's plenty of time ahead.
You will find it reliable most likely. Maybe while you're waiting for your test, familiarise yourself with all aspects of maintenance of it?
