Seems enough space there to put a decent size engine in that huge hole..Why did you get rid of the induction pipes ..more heat in that area..

Very nice Cerb John thumbup

Do you not get heatsoak issues with those cone filters in place of the OEM ducting? I bet that sounds I bet special with those filters fitted.

It is a uprated larger capacity alloy rad the badge came with it.

SILICONEKID340HP & MPoxon

When I bought it was fitted with the bonnet below & the
original airbox will not fit, I too had concerns about heat sink etc & changed it back to the original bonnet.
As you can see the "custom" bonnet was slightly off colour plus the heat issue, its not to my taste.
Yes MPoxon it did sound glorious though with the cone filters on Lol.

Thanks for reply - mine is similar spec (and figures ie 330/330) without the ACT triple - so is it just an extra 20 on the figures or is there any other differences ie driveability etc Thanks, Paul.
Can you show me your spark table i would like to compare.
I've looked everywhere for my spark table and can't find it (I don't even know what it looks like.....you show me yours and I'll have another look..).
Found the RR printout from when the work was done (ALL credit to prev. owner not me..):

Rev-erend, that motor looks like it'll be stonking, get it finished man!

pjac67,

What did you have done inbetween runs 1 & 3?

Power goes up, torque goes down, (or the reverse!)?

Plot1 was 6m after Plot3 and I guess (as car is new to me) it was a simple mapping trade off between torque and bhp. Although I think I'd prefer plot3 ie 10 lbft more torque kicking in a bit earlier at the expense of 10 bhp/tail off at 5500 instead of 5800 ...
How easy is it to change the mapping or is it always RR session/£300 ish?

Strange 2 maps.

Usually, the 2nd map is a tad down on the first run but usually 1 or 2 bhp in my experience.

If you have the Lucus ECU, map changes are not so easy, for instance Austec Racing charge £500 to remap it.

i am in the process of engine bay improvements ( we shall see :-) and engine bay tidy up.
Nearly all the paints i have seen say "highly flammable" on the tin, even the ones that say its safe from 50 - 90% centigrade.
so, is it a risk?
should i, or do i HAVE to tell the insurers, what have you done?
should the final coat of lacquer be gloss or matt?

Does anyone know the colour and where to get the hose matching blue paint?
one more question, i am painting rocker covers 500 lilac, but what colour should i paint the plenum, or leave it silver
