Thinking of selling

35k for all the work, except 32 through gritted teeth but that takes no notice of the market.
Marketed well and given time someone will understand and appreciate the value of the work you've undertaken and realise they couldn't do it for less!
Just got to find that nutter who loves power and beauty in equal measure Mac.
Errrr that'll be you then

Worth every penny but at 32k there is alot of choice out there ..
most of you know it's cost double that in parts alone, but I'm being realistic

Help or hinderance? advice or sabotage? fair or foul? or just another needless poke? Not sure. Opinions? None of them appeal to me personally. Nick, if you want to help then great, I'll bury the hatchet and even buy you a beer if it's the latter then go and start another thread as to what you could buy for £30k. I'm confused.

Just some ideas to spark conversation Mac, I don't know why you think there is any 'hatchet' to bury - just because I have on occasion questioned *in general* questioned turbo route I have never *ever* said anything other than complimentary things about your engineering skills + the amazing quality of your build.
I kind of listed things that are certainly exciting cars - but are they unique in anyway definitely not,
GT-R - amazing speed + 4 wheel driving handling, but you do have start driving like a tt
350Z - make great track cars - lovely engine + great handling, but a bit sterile IMHO.
Porsche - TVR owners tend to hate them (me included) - but ever since I got the Cayman I was convinced that some are good (I still don't like 911's)
Noble - Just another TVR'alike - but you wanted something different?
Merc - test to see if you want luxury over handling?
All of above will feel slow compared to your Chim - but most are quicker/safer to take near the limit + therefore maybe in some ways more fun, but definitely not the sound/drama/seat-of-pants feel.
Bloke Long day, looking for work, one to many shandies and an inferiority complex. Apologies. I took it wrong, my bad and like to think it takes a man to admit he made a mistake, I did, sorry I kind of listed things that are certainly exciting cars - but are they unique in anyway definitely not,

I tend to avoid listening to anything to sad these days, as after the accident and other health issues in 2016 i come over all emotional. Not good, but gotta let it out some how.
Now i have my car back and i'm doing some load bearing on the leg(step in the right direction ) at least i can get in the garage and clean or polish something
Mac have you seen the supercharged Griff for sale on FB, up for £32500 with 57k miles 96 plate. Just thought might be worth looking at the advert as a comparison of a modified car, in my opinion it dosen't look a patch on your cars spec and has been spoilt with the rear lights and the vents in the bonnet, just my opinion though.
Stay chilled mate
Hiya bloke, glad to hear you 'may' be moving around a bit, I must get over there this week Now i have my car back and i'm doing some load bearing on the leg(step in the right direction ) at least i can get in the garage and clean or polish something

^^^^^^^^ this. Great post
Take that Chim show it and drive a thousand cars Mac,,, test every damn one of them, that's how hard this is.
If it's business and you need to focus on other projects that's a different deal.
If you need a new challenge then good on you really and what a car someone else will enjoy, and enjoy it they will.
Familiarity breeds contempt, I reckon you should cover it up and go do something else for a while.
Your breath will be lost when uncovering it again.
It's stunning man, stunning,,

No way your selling it , it's part of you ! , I sometimes think the same too like every year there is always something to do, one blast in the spring and I think I have missed this. It's bit like a motorbike, you might not always use it but it just has to be there in the garage !!!
Thanks Nigel, I can assure you it is not going to be the easiest of decisions. Got home tonight , sat in garage with a beer (as you do) and just looked at it. Sad to some maybe,,,,,,,,, But sure you understand Discopotatoes said:

The power of PH? Well it seems there is already considerable interest in my car despite me only 'thinking' of selling. Two enquiries seem genuine, not so sure about the others, but,,,, who knows? (any test pilots will be sussed). It really is turning out to be a very difficult decision and I've been talking to 'my Deb' for some time about it, aswell as losing sleep and it looks as though we are coming down on the side of sell. I say this with a very heavy heart and it has not been taken lightly.
Just timing now I suppose but I don't relish the thought of sifting through add's, calls, wheeler dealer's etc. Just hope that someone appreciates the work and thought put into trying to achieve a 'factory' look as far as upgrades go rather than just chucking money at it and hoping for the best.
To be continued,,,,,,,,,,,,

Mac, I know we've been through this, but your budget will get a really nice 4.3 Vantage, question is, have you driven one yet? It is possible that despite all the things that make the Vantage such a stunning piece of kit, you might feel completely underwhelmed with it on the road... you may feel that the driving experience doesn't live up to your expectations... rose tints and all that.. I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to try one (or two) properly... before putting the Chimaera up for sale... They can be made to go alot quicker, but performance mods for these cars are horrendously expensive, and not really DIY jobs.. The later 4.7 has a fair bit more oomph, but still has the price tag to match. DB9 (V12) is an option, but again driving one is the only way to know...
When I bought beastie I put a deposit down... without ever having driven a Chimaera before, but in retrospect it was more luck than judgement that made it a good decision!
Offer to drive mine is of course still open...
Note: The above offer only applies to Mac

Hi Richard, cheers mate. Thing is I may have to shelve that idea as I've had a shock bill via the accountant and didn't realise quite the mess the company is in. I'll PM rather than hang washing out. When I bought beastie I put a deposit down... without ever having driven a Chimaera before, but in retrospect it was more luck than judgement that made it a good decision!

You've got to do what's right for you (2). What you've achieved is nothing short of fantastic and that knowledge and the level of appreciation expressed by other true enthusiasts about your creation can never be taken away from you mate. So ffs do what makes you happy, you only live once (although I got away with it!) and most of all enjoy life, cos it's for living and when you scratch the surface it's actually a hell of a ride!
Hiya bloke, thanks for kind thoughts mate. I hope your health is improving all the time. Must have a chat sometime So, how would you word an ad'? It's been a long time since I've sold a car. The last was Debs Alfa of which Neal bought off me and before that it was my first Griffith which sold to the first viewer. After that my second Griffith was part exchanged for a T350 and my present Chimeara was taken in part exchange against my T350 so I'm out of practice a bit. My R1 Yamaha was sold previous to first Griffith and I remember the guy who travelled some distance took one look and said, "fkin' 'ell, I'll have it" similar happened to my previous GSXR [they were a bit special]. I just don't relish the calls like, "how much will you take for it" without even seeing it because I will put the phone down with a 'fk off'. I just want to price fairly and have an easy sale as I can't stand the bartering bks. Though usually in the past when I have sold anything they see and buy. But with the advent of Mike Brewer and the likes it seems insult is normal nowadays.
