The price I paid was £395 but there are various options you can have, including body colour cowls, thick border lenses and thin border lenses. Smoked or unsmoked...
I think they look excellent Alex, never seen them on a green car before, now you've got me thinking but I really need the stone chips done first though. HmmmQBee said:
Do you like the Speed Six conversion Central TVR do? £1150 plus VAT, but that includes a full front end respray, which alone would have cost you £800 plus VAT. If, like me, your car has serious teenage acne, it has to be worth considering, so long as, like me, you like the look of the Speed Six lights.
Each to their own but I think the S6 lights look a bit wrong on the classic British sports car styled Chimaera. The faired in style suits it better.AlexHillTVR said:
These are very much do it yourself. £750 is a full 90% more to get it done by someone else, including taking the car there in fuel and stuff it's going to end up being double the price. But depends what you like. The finish on these if you do them right is very very good!
And you have clearly made a cracking job of it, Alex. They look the business. Like many, I have seen "Mark 3" headlights in the flesh, and they do look a whole lot more modern than the standard fare, while not looking too modern. For many the ultimate solution.
And you are right - two return trips to Stoke on Trent would set me back between £200 and £300 on top of the price of the work.
The Speed Six set is only an option to consider if a) you like them and b) you have done four trackdays at RAF Marham without a condom on the car

I think £395 is a bit expensive IMHO when you have to do the work yourself, considering Central in Stourbridge(West Mids) are doing the work and fitting 7" headlight upgrade and xenon for £762
+1 for the Mk3 headlight conversion and Xenon light upgrade from Central, they did my car and made a perfect job, remember, every price is negotiable sgrimshaw said:
but ...... unless you can do this all yourself, it's no cheaper than getting the Mk3 Headlamp upgrade for around £750 fully fitted including new headlamps, bulbs, paint etc.
Really? Steve reckoned that if I supplied the Lupo lights he'd be able to fit them and do a set of his covers for about 500 quid...Phil
I could be wrong but don't you have to be careful fitting Xenons now? I thought they have to be self levelling and / or fitted with washers or something for the MOT? I could be totally wrong.......
I'm waiting for the Lupo version of the Steve Edwards kit to be available DIY style. He is still writing up the instructions for this before releasing the kit..... That has to be the ultimate lights upgrade IMO.

If the car had Xenons as standard then it will have self levelling and washer, if they are fitted they have to be working, if not, they can't fail!I'm waiting for the Lupo version of the Steve Edwards kit to be available DIY style. My car sailed through the MOT last year without advisories.
To be honest the Xenon lights make a huge difference in the dark and so long as they are set up correctly, they will not dazzle other road users
The Central TVR conversion also includes new headlights, so is very good value
People are comparing £395 + time and effort with £762 + fuel.
It totally depends on how far you are having to travel of course but for me the Central TVR option would have worked out as £762 + £100 (for fuel return) but in reality I would have had to get a train back down to London and then back up again so once that's factored in it's pushing £1000 and that's far from £395. Save £600 and don't worry about insurance for 2 years.
Totally different kettle of fish if you live in Stourbridge.

Your assuming the price given on the website is the price you pay, I paid a fair chunk less than that It totally depends on how far you are having to travel of course but for me the Central TVR option would have worked out as £762 + £100 (for fuel return) but in reality I would have had to get a train back down to London and then back up again so once that's factored in it's pushing £1000 and that's far from £395.
