Matt, where did you buy your clear side indicators from? It seems that the Halfords ones won't fit the Chim in any case so no point going back there

Err.. I think they came from halfords, but just do a search on google for "Fiesta oval side repeaters clear" and you will find them... with most of these replacement repeaters you need to shave a little bit off the cars bodywork to get them to fit, so your Halfords ones should be ok.

I haven't decided on whether I should change the orange front and rear indicator lenses to clear. I see your point about the orange standing out against the blue, although not on the side of the car!

Yep, the difference with the front is that the Orange is against the Black of the recessed Grille, not against the bodywork, so you get a nice bit of colour in the depths of the recess.. Clear ones would just dissapear IMO

Matt.

Personally, if I do it I'll go for clear fronts and repeaters (and leave the back as is) to match the headlamps.

With your colour car Archie that would doubtless look great.. with my Metallic Blue the orange works well at the front though

All down to personal preference of course..

And of course the fronts on our early cars are a bit more tricky to get out the black mesh than the newer 'Cerbera style' front cars

Thanks peeps

So basically the general consensus is that I won't be committing a faux pas by fitting colour coded side repeaters, rather it's more down to personal choice.

The orange lenses will definitely be replaced but as yet I can't decide between the clear or blue ones. I expect by the time I do make up my mind and go back to Halfords, BOTH types will be out of stock!

Hmm...do I replace the orange front and rear lenses with clear???? More decisions Perhaps I'll fret over that another day!!!!

to just do the sides and not the fronts looks like you've forgotten. and white fronts look quite good as there's nothing else thats orange on the car

you could paint your wheels and grill orange

Roz - why not fit one of each - clear on the left and blue on the right or vice versa - Oh the decisions!

If I use the colour coded side repeaters but keep the orange front and rear lenses, it won't look like I've forgotten. But clear ones all round are nice too!!

My head is spinning

Clear fronts available from Peninsula - about 40 quid if I remember correctly.

Me? Faintly blue sides and clear fronts

Personally think orange fronts with clear/colour coded sides looks a little 'unfinished'.

Wasn't it David Mellor who liked oranges in a dark recess? Rich...

Will 'try' to photograph this weekend. My car is Antigua Blue, more of a navy blue metalic. Can get you the repeaters if you like - local Lax Power shop.

Have also very lightly sprayed the Fiesta lenses at the rear with Turbo Lights ( muppet tendancies) in blue. Just darkens the lenses enough so they are not obvious - also gives the reversing light a nice blue glow
